A mountain hut located along piste number 14 on the way to Gastein – hands down the best food we’ve come across while skiing.👍👍👍

You can sit inside, where there are plenty of nicely arranged tables with benches or outside if the weather is good. The outdoor area features both tables and sun loungers, perfect for soaking up the sun when it’s shining.☀️

They offer a wide selection of dishes with generous portions, served quickly by a friendly staff. The skewers with fries are especially delicious, as is the shredded pancake with powdered sugar. The atmosphere is gorgeous. We loved the wooden house and the breathtaking view of the mountains. Yet the food was quite dissatisfying. There is a lack of vegetarian options. The rice is not cooked properly. The sausages we ordered were dripping in grease and quite unpleasant to eat. The fries were very stale and flavourless. The prices remain high while the food portions and quality don’t match that level I must say. The only good part was the skiwasser which had lots of syrup and the Keiserschmarn which were surprisingly fluffy and buttery. Also keep in mind this is all self service.
