Panorama Restaurant an der Tiroler Zugspitze — Restaurant in Ehrwald

We were travelling as a family with young kids so bear in mind our requirements might have differ from yours.||We booked two weeks in advance but had to run away next morning after arrival.||THE GOOD||We booked because of the panoramic view, hill location faraway from the main road, kids playground and impression we got from the pictures.||It was a summer trip so sky lift was not our key interest that time.||If you are in a main building you have it all. If you are for a winter sport you may be very happy to be as close to the lift as you can imagine. 10 meters. Is it very loud then? I do not know. Might be. If you are travelling with young kids you might find very attractive the children playground situated right in front of the restaurant. It's on a hill next to the main building. ||||THE BAD||They are cheating. We booked through a largest booking system and not a single word there about the second location they own. The owners started to build another small boxes they call apartments (the walls are paper thin, the construction site is next to you, none of the pictures you reflect the outer view, it's just in a field down there. It is not a panoramic view place. It is on a main road in Ehrwald). If you are unlucky to be placed into these boxes down the hill you'll need to climb 1 km to the playgroung and restaurant, sky lift, hill, panoramic view or whatever.||And they never informed us we got a different location confirmed!||It's a different address, faraway from everything. Then the owner starts to explain me they've been fighting their representatives for month to place this additional info into the booking system web page....Well...Should we have asked this system to contact them to find out what they have to offer? It's not what they pictured. Not only. The box we stayed in was so cold that sad July night... No heating, hot water runs with a delay. We ran away next morning although booked for 2 weeks. Then the owner started to blaim I did not provide my credit card on booking...I Did! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to book..Anyway noone contacted me asking my details although they had my email address and we booked far in advance...it was really bad. In such a high season when everything was overbooked we were just riding around knocking every door to find an available accommodation. We just could not come back to this cold box with construction activity right at your door. 1 yard. Good luck to everybody with this choice. I would prefer to avoid that kind...

Me and my brother booked this hotel via booking.com, we were later told that we were supposed to stay in one of the appartments in the village but since we were travelling in low season we got a free upgrade to the apartment in the main building, super! The welcome was very friendly as Thomas showed us up to the apartment. The apartment itself is suitable for 6 people and has everything you need to stay a week or two. It is clean, the beds are comfortable and the view from the balcony is absolutely stunning. The restaurant downstairs is good, we had dinner and lunch there and the menu provides enough to chose from.
