Good day, the below opinion is not about hotel/Gasthof but the restaurant with a tarras at its front. Th restaurant inside, as well as all common areas, are also very "local stylish", clean and tight. The view outside from restaurant tarras in the winter is simply MAGNIFICENT - see attached photo. It is ca 20-30 min walk from tramway station of Fulpmes. I recommend this "hike trip" from Innsbruck for everyone. You literally take a tram in the city (I am sorry but forget the number of tramway) and go all alone to last station in the mountains resort Fulpmes. Tramway takes only once an hour, so plan trip sharp.
So, 20-30 min walk from last tram station, you achieve Grobenhof place. The food is of the best quality of local dishes. Very fresh and very tasty. I strongly recommend with local white wine- please give up a glass of beer this time, unless you come here only to have beer.
I suggest do not bother with price here, as extra 5-10Eur will not make difference and believe me you will be "coming back" with your thoughts of this trip and this place being back home. And try some of the dish you did not try till now in Tirol, even if the name tells you nothing or you are afraid to get something in "scottish style :)". Believe me you will not regret, no matter if you take local fish or very reach choice of dumplings or meat etc. It is definitely "heavy" food, but common...you are in the mountains in the winter. Another 30 min walk and you are at zero calories balance. 5 stars with no single doubt!!!!

The road is narrow and would be difficult if there is a lot of snow. ||||The restaurant at Gasthof Groebenhof was really excellent. The venison with red cabbage was one of the best meals I have ever tasted. Thursday night is fondue night and they have both meat fondue (dunking meat in hot oil) and cheese fondue. The restaurant was always full, with big tables, so it may be worth calling ahead.||||The place we stayed was the Alpenbauernhof Groebenhof, literally a 7 minute walk from the Gasthof. A big house that is part of a working farm. The rooms are mixed - some are just rooms, some are rooms with en suite, and some were mini apartment with an extra kitchen. Pay your money and take your choice. There is a breakfast room for those without a kitchen. As it is a working farm, there are benefits - really fresh milk (cows are milked at about 6 pm, look for the cats). Clean, nice staff. Internet a bit flakey. The transmitter is on the ground floor in the office, so rooms direct above it have good reception. Otherwise you end up sitting in the stair well.||||We had...
