Went there on a weekday for lunch with my parents.
I first want to say we are not familiar with Greek cuisine, but this is a popular place in the area so my parents wanted to try it out.
We did not have a reservation and got a table inside, as it was quite windy the day we went, but the outside seating area was full.
All of us ended ordering from the lunch menu- we had Moussaka, grilled Salmon, and grilled hake filet. Service was very quick- we were offered an aperitif, but rejected it, since my parents don’t drink. We got our dishes after a short waiting time- portion size is decent- but the food was just ok. It was not bad at all, but not amazing either. We might have had a better experience ordering more typically greek dishes as this is a Greek restaurant.
My dad did not like the dressing on his side salad- he’s already quite old, and very particular with his food. The waiter was so kind to get my dad a new salad with olive oil and Balsamico vinegar on the side. The interior was nice maybe a bit kitschy, but I enjoyed being there.
The only thing I thought was a bit unusual was, that when I asked for the wifi password our waiter asked for my phone to type in the password himself.
Overall- nice environment, fast service, extensive menu with a big variety of dishes. We will try other...
Read moreThe place is always crowded, sign of appreciation by the locals. It is true that the variety of restaurants in Groß-Enzersdorf is not tremendous. The staff is very friendly, the food is ok and the location on the DOK (Donau Oder Kanal) is lovely. One thing though, it is impossible to distinguish by reading the Carte what is vegetarian from what is not. Unfortunately, the main "ingredient" of the dishes are often left in greek, not translated, only the accompanying ingredients are. So you may end up with meat or fish when you did not want it. The truth is vegetarian dishes are rare. And as it is crowded, the nice waiters or room supervisors are not so available. Small "V"s on the carte would help a bunch. (And they would not be legion, unfortunately) And beware, the Tsatsiki is with cucumber, without any previous notice. If you don't like cucumber, you will not like the tsatsiki, your last hope as vegetarian. Too bad... The restaurant could have deserved one...
