Fuxbau — Restaurant in Gemeinde Klösterle

Situated in the basement, lower ground floor of a beautifully presented hotel, fuxbau is a step up for Stüben - the village, which has almost certainly suffered a serious drop-off in custom following the introduction of the Flexenbahn lift; now gives the skier who can make the effort, an excellent reason to extend their run or divert from their plans to visit Zurs or Arlberghohe.

The kitchen at Fuxbau is seriously talented. The ingredients are very good quality. The portions are sensible. The service staff are mostly very friendly and competent. The pricing is towards the upper end of the range, but it's not yet unreasonable.

Deliciously prepared dishes and great service! We were happily surprised by the way every dish was prepared with a (slight) twist and carefully selected tastes combined. The most perfect Kaiserschmarrn ever, a very tastefull combination and 'different' Caprese starter, a classic but very good thin sliced Schnitzel and the 2-part main course 'Barbecue' was a great combination of vegetables and very well prepared meat. So dissapointed… We made a lunch reservation for 14:30. We received a confirmation. And then we arrive and the waiter tells us the kitchen is closed. I questioned him why do they accept reservations at 14:30 if the kitchen closes at that time. He insinuated I was wrong so I proceeded to show the confirmation on my phone. He told me to wait a bit and then came back with a bad attitude and told me and my family that he confirmed the kitchen is closed and he can only offer us cake.
