Absolutely adored this. The location is perfect with beautiful views and the balcony bedecked with vibrant, deep red geraniums. There’s a good choice of simple dishes and drinks. Prices are fair and the quality is good. There is a need to be patient since the speed of service is certainly not fast. But we’re on holiday so who cares. Just enjoy the surroundings, the company and the Austrian music softly playing in the background. The gentleman who served us was kind and spoke excellent English. If you could create your very own cafe on the mountain then this would be it. Toilets are modern, very clean and they even offer free sun cream in the basket by the hand basin if you need some. There’s a small play area for the kids and deck chairs if you’re wanting to stay longer. This was a Summer visit. It’s close to the ski piste and, although we haven’t skied here, I would most certainly stop if descending in the Winter season. Inside looks beautiful too. The place you must stop off at when skiing in Gargellen or visit in the summer months if walking in the Alps. Sabine and her staff are really friendly, multilingual and knowledgeable about the area. Traditional mountain food, freshly prepared, you can reserve a table on the day, busy period between 12.30 to 2pm, plenty of seating outside if you have the weather for it. Habe leider im Winter zu oft schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Werde deshalb die Hütte zumindest im Winter meiden. Kann gut sein, dass es im Sommer besser ist. War im Sommern aber noch nicht da. Schon beim Ankommen wir man mit einem überaus freundlichen "Beiseite!" begrüßt. Service ist überfordert und oftmals sehr unfreundlich. Auf die Frage, ob es auch gespritztes Skiwasser gibt bekam ich nur die schnippische Antwort: "Ne, sowas wirds bei uns nicht geben!" Nun zum Essen: Apfelstrudel: Oberseite war einmal komplett verbrannt, wurde mit Staubzucker überdeckt. 4 Euro Aufpreis für Vanillesoße finde ich bisschen viel. Keesspätzle: Viel zu viel Pfeffer.
