Visiting Hudson Stop American Diner was a delightful experience that I highly recommend. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a classic American diner atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and inviting. The décor, complete with checkered floors and cozy booths, sets the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Mexican burger. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with just the right amount of spicy kick, it was a flavor explosion that left me wanting more. Paired with their crispy fries, it’s a meal that stands out.

I ordered the chili con carne and found it very spicy. When I mentioned this to the manager, he reacted as if I had said, “the salt is too salty.” To him, chili meant spicy flakes and he insisted this was the only correct definition, lecturing us as if his view was universally valid.

Like “pepperoni” (a salami or a bell pepper) or “curry” (a spice or a dish), “chili” can mean different things depending on where you are. While we understood the cultural misunderstanding, the manager’s insistence that our expectations were wrong and his interpretation was the only one was off-putting.

Auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant, wo es leckere Burger gibt (um nicht immer zu den selben zu fahren), welches nicht all zu weit weg von zu Hause ist, sind wir auf das Hudson Stop gestoßen. Von außen wirkt es vielleicht sogar etwas unscheinbar, doch der Schein trügt!

Beim rein gehen wurden wir sofort herzlich Empfangen und nach der Frage, ob wir reserviert haben, wurden wir zu einem freien aber sehr gemütlichen Platz begleitet (wir hatten nicht reserviert).

Die Getränkebestellung wurde aufgenommen, im Anschluss haben wir die wirklich modernen Speisekarten bekommen (elektronisch, in iPad-Form, aber wirklich sehr simpel in der Bedienung). Auf den Plätzen ist auch eine "Powerbank" mit den gängigsten Ladekabeln zu finden und auf der Front davon laufen Bilder ab (quasi wie ein digitaler Fotorahmen), fand ich auch eine nette Idee :-).

Hat nicht lange gedauert, haben wir auch schon unser Essen bekommen. Das hat uns wirklich gut geschmeckt.

Auch die Nachspeise hat uns wirklich gut geschmeckt.

Der Hund am Nebentisch hat auch sofort Wasser bekommen :-).
