Yamauchi Ramen — Restaurant in Graz

Yamauchi Ramen is a fantastic small ramen-ya (ラーメン屋) in Graz that has created an ambiance that resembles a true Japanese Ramen shop. Very friendly staff and quite authentic food makes a visit at the restaurant a very enjoyable experience. Our "Yamashita Ramen" as well as the "Abunai Miyajima" were very tasty but both could have done with a better ratio of noodles and other ingredients. The noodles were perfectly cooked though but just too many. We simply missed the variety of more onions, kigurage, tofu etc. The Gyoza were excellent, but it would have been nice to get a plate for each guest upon sharing the portion in order not to make a total mess on the table. Kyabetsu salada is a refreshing and crunchy addition to any Japanese meal. A little bit more sesame dressing would get my thumbs-up;) We truly enjoyed our visit at Yamauchi and will certainly...

Great authentic Ramen restaurant.

And I say that as someone that traveled around Japan many times and tried Ramen all around the country.

Good variety of broths. Nice sides. Portions are filling. And there is also an option for XL size or an extra serving of noodles(kaedama).

Chef and owner Osamu is half Japanese, had a ramen cooking education in Japan and also learned under Yamamoto(former best sushi place in Graz). Staff is also mostly Japanese. Nice ambience as well. It also has a small terrace outside for the summer.

Everything was quite okay. Ramen was tasty but not amazing. I have made a reservation through their website and unfortunately there was some error on their side and we had to sit a while with some other couple at our table because of double booking. However I think that was an honest mistake and the staff gave us a free starter and an apology so everything was good in the end. We also had a nice opportunity to meet new people. 😄

Design of the interior of the restaurant makes you think about far east and the music was also japanese themed.
