Der Bachwirt — Restaurant in Knittelfeld

Really nice restaurant in Knittlefeld, which is just a few kilometres from the Redbull Ring in Austria. And because of that has much memorabilia scattered around with many photos, very interesting to look at the history of formula one in this restaurant.

Very traditional old German building set in the heart of Knittlefeld, has a small river next to it, with pedestrian bridges to walk into the restaurant, very beautiful.

Has a very beautiful large rear garden.

Our experience was deeply disappointing. We were a group of 16, enjoying an evening together, but unfortunately, the end of our visit left a sour taste. As the night went on, we were abruptly and rudely reminded of the restaurant’s closing hour. The staff’s impolite behavior in practically pushing us out the door was completely uncalled for and left us feeling unwelcome. We were greeted by friendly staff in a very nice place. There’s plenty of seats to choose both inside and outside.

What was absolutely mind blowing though was the food that was served. The schnitzel was delicious and the potato salad was amazing as well.

The salmon my wife had was very tasty too and we also enjoyed the presentation.
