Exceptional food and service. I didn't expect to find this gem of a restaurant hidden in the mountains. It has two rooms, one more charming than the other. The main room is the hall of the old customs between Germany and Austria. It has a high ceiling, giving it a sense of grandeur, but still, it remains cozy, due to the wonderful warm decor. The hosts kept the charming fireplace. I felt like I was in a bedtime story. The second room has a more rustic charm, with old mountain gear, hunting trophies and also a cozy fireplace. As the food came, everyone was in awe. We all ordered different dishes, and all of them were beyond delicious. Juicy and very tasty meat and vegetables, we could tell it was all locally sourced. The dishes were simple, nothing fussy or pretentious, and that was just what we needed. And all at great prices. Simply unforgettable. Thank you for the...
Read moreI would say one of the Best restaurants I have visited in Europe. Amazing service. One of the best local cuisine I have eaten. Semmelknödel with Käse Sauce was THE BEST!! The special spicy chilly powder, made it extra(hot!!) special ;) l!!! If you think that was it, then the owner Emil a super friendly person, has the best for the end. Kaiserschmarrn - definitely I don't think one would find a better Kaiserschmarrn anywhere. A huge portion and more importantly extremely tasty!!! Drinks were top!! Even the local beer tastes better in that restaurant as Emil and his "Chefin" does it with passion
If your taste buds are still not satisfied, there are also the Austrian Alps to please your eyes :)
The restaurant has lots of history behind it as well starting from Napolean days to modern times!!
Definitely a must visit, irrespective of how far you...
Read moreD'Artagnan was the Consumate host. Gave us a lovely tour of the property. Apparently Marshall Ney drove a few thou of his troops thru in 1805. Feedwise, not bad. What I really don’t understand from my Austria visit is the almost complete lack of veggies on any menu. The grub could have been complemented with a side of beans or spinach. I guess you can’t deep fry either of those. When one comes from the old metrop where these things are readily in the offing it’s a pitty. I wonder that half the pop isn’t constipated eating these meals. You only have to wander around the Spa in Seefeld. You just try and find the veg department. Go on. The whole thing is about three meters wide and 2 tall for a massive store. If it’s meat and cheese your after just close your eyes and grab the nearest shelf. Lord hath...
