A Perfect Getaway at Grünwalderhof Hotel
My son and I recently spent four delightful days at the Grünwalderhof hotel in Austria, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. We were visiting for leisure, and this charming hotel provided everything we needed for a memorable stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Hans, who was incredibly welcoming, informative, and friendly. His helpfulness set the tone for the rest of our visit, and the excellent service continued throughout our stay. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, cozy and very comfortable. One of the highlights was the large balcony that offered spectacular and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the natural beauty of the area.
The hotel's restaurant was magnificent. Every meal we had was delicious, and the variety of dishes offered something for everyone. The quality of the food and the dining experience exceeded our expectations.
The hotel's location is also very convenient. The bus station is just down the street, making it easy to travel to the city. Additionally, the hotel is surrounded by lovely hiking trails that were easy to access and provided a wonderful way to explore the local scenery.

Read moreWell, I did not get to stay at this hotel although we had a reservation. So, that is all the reason I have to give a one star rating. Just to elaborate on the situation: we were driving back from southern Austria to North Germany and wanted to have a break at HOTEL Grünwalderhof. We did make the reservation but we estimated that we couldn’t reach the hotel on time before the regular check-in times. So, we made a call early afternoon to see if we could have a late check-in. This was accepted and our reservation was noted down by the staff as well. When we arrived at the hotel at around midnight, we were told to go away through the INTERCOM (why have an intercom and late check-in systems when you don’t allow late check-ins??). I didn’t mind the “go away” part as much as the timing at which they asked us to “go away”.
Dear Hotel administrators, please let your guests clearly know if they can have a late check in. At the least, ask your guests to find an alternative if you’re not able to let them stay at your hotel. Don’t make them drive 600+ kilometers overnight. Your hotel doesn’t serve the purpose of “HOTEL”...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Grunwalderhof in July 2021 for 4 nights. During our stay, money was stolen from my wallet (left inside the locked hotel room, inside my suitcase) on 2 different occasions! When I alerted the hotel manager, he said that there was nothing he would do and brushed the issue off. The experience was awful and he offered no apology or compensation for the theft. He obviously didn’t care about serious issues like this happening in the hotel. There is a serious lack of security and accountability among staff that allowed this to happen. ||||Very disappointed and felt scared there was nothing done and guests are treated so poorly. ||||We went to the local police station when we discover the theft and filed a report - and left the hotel immediately. ||||Be very careful if you choose to stay there - I definitely wouldn’t...
