Areitalm — Restaurant in Piesendorf

A group of seven visited this Sat around 2.30 pm the bistro section. The service at the self-service section was beyond appalling, the older chef and his server aide were impatient upon slight of the slightest looks at the food board behind them, literally gesturing and shouting to move on. Mind u, it was not busy at that time with 5 people in the line. One thing is that that the staff may not be able to speak English and understand, quite another is not wanting to engage in the simplest of conversations, show respect and try at least a bit to explain what the dishes are rather than rudely shrug any attempt to do so. Prices are not an issue, quality of the food was akin to frozen fast food rather than 17EUR meals, but hey, u just need to fill up and continue to run the slopes. Lovely place let down mainly...

Wir waren seit 2016 jedes Jahr - während unseres ca. 1wöchigen Ski-Urlaubs - i. d. R. 3-5x zum Mittagessen mit/oder ohne unsere (3) Kinder (Skischulbesucher) auf der Areitalm zu Gast. Leider hat sich zum letzten Besuch (Januar 2022) etwas deutlich verändert. Der Service ist ähnlich OK (nicht ganz so gut, wie in den letzten Jahren), aber das Essen ist leider nach dem Pächterwechsel nur noch absolutes Mittelmaß. Das Restaurant Areitalm war - auch bei dieser Größe im (Selbstbedienungsbereich und im Restaurant) - in der Vergangenheit ein wirklicher Restaurantunterschied im Vergleich mit anderen Hütten. Die Speisekarte und die darin beschriebenen Speisen haben immer eine Vorfreude auf das Essen bereitet. Das 'Beschriebene' passt jetzt leider nicht mehr zum servierten Essen. Das Essen war sehr lieblos zubereitet und auch die Qualität der Mahlzeit war erheblich schlechter (bspw. Salat und Salatdressing). Das ist vielleicht ein hartes Urteil nach dem gestrigen Essen im Selbstbedienungsbereich und dem heutigen Restaurantbesuch...aber auch der Blick auf andere Teller im Restaurant haben den qualitativen Unterschied visibel gemacht. Leider hat man uns als Kunden verloren!!! Teurere Preise sind sicherlich irgendwie nachvollziehbar, aber gleichzeitig verminderte Qualität der Mahlzeit und etwas schlechterer Service machen das Restaurant zu einem ganz normalen Restaurantabfertigungsbetrieb mit mittelmäßiger Qualität. Wir hoffen, dass das Team deutlich an Kompetenz zulegt, sodass das vorherige Qualitätsniveau wieder erreicht werden kann....

One of the two only Alms, which you can reach if you are not on skis or on a snowboard. Of course, they have elevated prices, but it was okay. They have self-service food and offer a great choice of different options. Service was a little rough, and they took the tablets even while we were still using them. A little over motivated, so to say, nut overall nice. They have a lot of space outside and also inside, if you want to warm...
