Not sure why the rating schema is asking for a ”room“ instead of ”food“ rating.
There are no rooms but there is food, and great views. The decor is country-Hut-cosy with splashes of grand Austrian Empire flourishes, a chandelier here and there and gorgeous handworked woodwork. A very large hand carved wooden sculpture of the Crucifixion in one of the special occasion rooms will tell you how big a deal Christianity remains in Austria.
On a sunny day, it feels like you truly are on top of skier‘s heaven.
Fun, family friendly, and festive. Tyrolean specialities like „Tiroler Grostl“ and „ZiaKiachl“ (a huge deep fried donut served either sweet or salty) are a must try.
The Alm offers packages to host your special occasions, in particular weddings. There are distinct rooms for special events. The Alm even has its own dedicated ski lift cabin that‘s decorated with curtains and flourishes for just such special occasions.
Below the restaurant there is a small museum dedicated to the history and evolution of the area since before written history.
The service is always polite and pleasant even during the busiest times. This review comes after our 2nd visit in...
Read moreShameless is the first word that comes to mind after our visit with a group of 4. After arriving for the "Hüttenabend" we were guided to a round table for 6 where we were told there were still 2 people coming. Thinking it was a joke or a misunderstanding we commenced eating the food that was already on the table. Half way through our dinner a young couple arrived who was clearly as surprised and disappointed, probably even more, that they were going to be seated with 4 other strangers on the same table. Strangers that even speak a different language than them. Here I come back to my initial point. In my modest view it is a totally shameless way of maximising profit by putting total strangers together at a table. The people across the table clearly had a romantic dinner in their mind and we as a group didn't really feel comfortable coping with the awkwardness this situation incurred. Even in McDonalds I was never forced to sit at a round table with total strangers. Let alone people on a date. And that burger restaurant isn't even asking around €45,00 per person...
Read moreWhat an incredible place to get married! The HoheMut is famous for its weddings, a remote high-up beautiful and bright location – the ideal location to take the most amazing pictures! But it’s also an amazing place to stop by for lunch after a hike, their traditional Tyrolese food is amazing, their service impeccable (they’re always pretty full but all the staff is super fast on their feet, as well as super friendly), and they have the cosiest environment with their wooden deco. Hosting our wedding ceremony there was non-negotiable, and what a great decision! Rudi was amazing at accommodating all our requests, and at organising the perfect private ceremony room for us and our guests, setting up the perfect banquet, and even managing added live Tyrolese music and the most amazing beautiful sunny day! It was perfect. Photos credit: #stephaniemarialohmann Make-Up credit: #danielas_kosmetik Flowers & deko credit: Florist Hannelore Kapferer,...
