Steak House — Restaurant in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer

We came across this place as the place down the street that was recommended to us wasn't allowing anyone else in as they were 45 minutes from closing. Their loss and the Steak House's gain.

The owner invited us in even though they were less than an hour from closing. We were never rushed and were able to enjoy our meal on our time. The atmosphere here was awesome and the food was even better. The ribs and chicken were fall off the bone tender. The beer was awesome and we toasted with the owner a local shot of alcohol. All in all we had a great time at a great restaurant.

We live in the USA, but whenever we traveled to Saalfelden, which was almost every year for the past 30 years, we went to the Steakhouse several times. The owner is an exceptional cook, the food is absolutely delicious. We took friends there who were visiting with us from Canada, USA, France - they still remember eating there. We have visited this steak house for more than 30 years. Living in the US, this is still the best steak house we ever found. Forget about steak houses in the US where every cook believes they can prepare steak - nothing we ever found was even remotely comparable to the quality and preparation of the steak we get here.
