We first had a chance to eat at this restaurant several years ago as the toboggan run ends at this location (well worth trying if it's open). We had a large group and made reservations for a dinner. Given the distance from the center of town and COVID restrictions, there were not as many people as we expected but that didn't change the quality of the food.
As noted, it is a bit of a walk from the Roseanna where we were staying (literally across town) and it may have been worth a taxi ride. But it was a beautiful night so our group wandered through beautiful St. Anton and made our way to the Rodelstall.
Let me be clear, the pork knuckle, is a MUST TRY. Check out the pictures and trust me when I say it is AMAZING. The knuckles are a little smaller than when we were here before (feeds 1 instead of 2) but they were even BETTER than we remembered. Out of our group of 12, 10 of us ordered the knuckle, and the other 2 regretted it.
This is a regular stop now whenever our group is in St. Anton and happily recommend it to any others...
Read moreGreat atmosphere and really cozy environment. Service was absolutely fantastic.
The food was mostly disappointing apart from the lamb shank, which was brilliant.
Pumpkin soup: too much blue cheese covers the pumpkin flavour, served with no routine or bread. The restaurant didn’t have any bread. 6/10
Beef tataki: the beef was served cold not by mistake. Also the dish was out of place in the menu but we ordered it because of lack of other first course options. 4/10
The pork knuckle needed a sauce, maybe an apple one with sweet and tart notes to complement the nicely cooked pork. Also the potatoes were badly prepared and blunt. 6/10
Lamb shanks: 10/10
Beef checks: 10/10
Brownie: if you list brownie on the menu has to be rich and decadent , cracked top and fudge middle. This wasn’t 6/10
Tiramisu: if the plan isn’t to disappoint your guests don’t call something a tiramisu if it’s a cream desert with caramel and...
Read moreThe restaurant and the service were great. However the food was not as expected. From the starters we ordered the beef tataki which came cold. We also got the pumpkin soup had so much goat cheese which overkilled the flavour. We asked for some bread and butter and they don't serve bread at the restaurant. The mains were really good, especially the lamp, a bit salty but still very good. The pork would definitely need some kind of sauce. Finally we ordered brownies and tiramisu for desserts. Not very satisfied, the tiramisu didn't have any flavor of coffee and the brownie wasn't good. Overall we had a great time and the service was amazing but the food could be...
