Berghotel Pointenhof — Restaurant in Sankt Johann in Tirol

My family and I have been guests at the Pointenhof for many years now. ||The Hotel is a family run business and you feel that when you stay there. There is a genuine welcome given to all of their guests and they take great pride in not only showing the best of how friendly the Austrians are but make you feel like part of an extended family. ||I am an Architect and I really appreciate good Architecture and attention to detail. The Pointenhof Hotel is exemplary in reinventing the traditional Austrian Architectural style and charm in a modern interpretation while keeping the warmth and essence of the traditional Austrian Style. We rented a series of Rooms over the years and all of them are modern, clean, offer balconies over the alps a beautiful quality of light and yet you feel as if you were in a traditional Austrian room with exceptional views of the Alps. ||The food & drink are incredible and this is served with a smile from the friendly staff. We have never waited long for any meal and never had a bad meal in all the years we have visited. ||The location for the Hotel is second to none, being halfway down the mountain, this guarantees that you are always first on the slopes in the mornings. It also had an advantage that if one of your parties was tired or forgot something it was very convenient to call back to the Hotel. ||We ventured into the town a few times and the taxi fare were very reasonable so don’t think you will be stuck on a mountain. ||I simply cannot say enough good things about the Hotel and in particular the family that make my family feel like they are in their second home. We have stayed in this hotel twice and have rebooked for next year. It is a family run hotel and the welcome, food, decor is wonderful. The refurbishment has been done modern but in keeping with the Tyrolean style. The hotel is ski in and out and the fact you have the chair lift directly out from the ski room is so easy and makes the holiday so convenient. You can even call in half way through the day which can be useful when skiing with the family. We had half board and thought the food was excellent the relaxed vibe is a great break from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The view from the bed is idyllic.
