We have been coming here for over 10 years and loved it. That has changed with the new lift. The restaurant has previously been full even with the bothersome lift but now it is filled. That I could live with. The problem comes when you factor in the lack of organisation and skill the staff has combined with the unrealistic expectations laid upon them. We waited 45 minutes to order and a further half hour for the first dish to come. Then another 15 minutes for the next. We never got our last. The staff seems to think that this is normal and our problem. No apologies. This will be our last time here, even with the nice food, it can in no way outway the embarrassment they call "service" and the lack of organisation behind the staff flying around and blaming the customers. Half of the customers thought so as well seeing as they left before the 45 minutes order time.
Edit: It should be noted that if you come in summer or any other time, this is still a great place. The thing that left us with a poor taste in our mouths was not the food, and in fact not really the wait, but more the staffs mood when we eventually were served. They made a mixup of the order - I can happen but it's tiresome, especially combined with the wait, but they handled it in the most unprofessional way possible. The staff had apparently been confused between two dishes: a dish with a salat and a dish as a soup. Instead of asking she assumed. Again it could be excused, but when we went to cancel the last order for taking to much time she started blaming us, even coming back after we had paid to tell us again that we could have avoided this by being more specific. That is why we won't be back. Nearly anything can be excused be nice staff. Those on work that day apparently forgot that it is not the customers fault that they are busy and a...
Read moreCame for lunch at around 15:00. At this hour it is the "short" menu (as described by the waiter, the long menu is after 17:00). Selection of food is minimal (the regular shnitzel/sausage/puzza like dish, and soup and salad). Luckily they have potatoes as well (not only fries). Food was better grade than the average tourist trap, but was still not very good. Disappointing for the top rated restaurant in the area. Noodle Soup tasted like everywhere else. Meaning it was made of those ready made powders. Chicken shnitzel was deep fried, tasted fine. Potatoes that came with it were very good. Chicken salad was like "all what I had in the kitchen + thousand ilands sause, and lots of it so that it would somehow taste good", which it didn't (seriously, it had lots of lettuce, but very few other vegetables and .. Surprise.. fruit as well. Oh and cheese. The thousand islands sause only made it worse). All of these with a high price tag of around 13€ per dish (soup was 4.5€). Kids menu was either a sausage or a shnitzel, with either fries or potatoes. Price tag was ok for them. Seating outside became a wasp nightmare. They attacked our food, desperately trying to get into our apple juices and everything around. And when finally one wasp drowned inside a drink, they didn't agree to replace it (they wanted me to order a new drink). We were charged for tap water (!).
On the other hand, there is a nice kids playground near the place, so in case you're with them, it might help while waiting for the food to come or afterwards.

We came with our two little kids and the service in this place was terrible. We felt lime we were not wanted there. As parents of twins we unfortunately have very few available hands and the service should be there to, well... serve you! Everything we asked was because we had no capacity to do it ourselves.
First we asked Leo to pour the bier into the glass and he did it but very unwillingly. Later on we ordered a Strudel and asked him to cut it in the middle to help us eating it. His answer was that we could do it ourselves and if he did it to everyone he could not work. It's a 5 seconds job!
At the end he decided to just give us the bill (without being asked to) to make us leave. I was handling one of the babies and didn't have time to pay at that moment, which prompted his gentle answer that he cannot stand there the whole day waiting for us.
What are those comments? We spent 100 euro there and were treated very badly. The management needs urgently to teach their service how to treat and respond politely to people who keep this...
