Winzerei Schober — Restaurant in Sankt Stefan ob Stainz

We stayed at Winzerei Schober for 2 nights 3 days and we could've stayed much longer. The location is beautiful, there is a view over the lush green vineyards to the town and distant hills. The accommodation combines homely, rustic and modern so you feel at home with modern amentities and everything you need. The food was exceptional, we ate as much of the food as we could! Our favourites were the home-made fig marmalade, raspberry and poppyseed cake, cheese and hummus. The food was prepared with care, not only tasting delicious but presented with edible, colourful flowers. The wine was wonderful, we enjoyed the Schilcher frizzante and Julia's Goldiger. The Schober family are welcoming, helpful and lovely people, we had everything we could want. It the perfect place to relax, drink lovely wine and eat high quality, home-made delicious food. We visited several wineries in the area and this one is the best!

We had the most wonderful stay at Winzerei Schober. The Schober family were all extremely friendly, kind and accommodating during our stay. We enjoyed spectacular sweeping views of the winery and surrounding towns and mountains. The two bedroom house/apartment was newly renovated while still feeling cosy and homely, and it was equipped with everything we needed. All of the wines we tried here were delightful, and the food including housemade cheese, jams and meat were absolutely delicious, fresh and always presented beautifully. Meine Freundin und ich machten eine Radtour und waren auf der Suche nach einem Buschenschank. Aber an diesem Dienstag hatten anscheinend alle geschlossen. Als wir bei der Winzerei Schober vorbeikamen, fragte uns der Wirt, der den Rasen mähte, ob wir was trinken wollen. Er brachte uns zwei Gläser Wein, obwohl er Ruhetag hatte. Es gibt doch noch Menschen die mit Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit überzeugen können....
