We travelled at the beginning of April for a two week skiing holiday and booked a three room apartment for a group of 6. there were two double bedrooms and a mezzanine area, above the living room, with three beds. This was completely open so any moveent in the kitchen/living area will disturb the occupants.||On arrival we were given one key and taken to the apartment which was on the first floor of a separate building from the main guest house. It was fairly clean (WC, shower) but the dining table was very dusty & there was a thick layer of dirt on the lightshade above the table.||Our view was of the main road & petrol station opposite and the balcony faced on to that. Be aware it is a shared balcony with the neighbouring apartment - caused some slight embarrassment with people looking through our windows!||The cooking facilities are very basic, hob & microwave and liitle space for washing up & storage. There was no sharp knife for cutting veg etc & no chopping board.||The main road through the valley passes directly in front and it is VERY busy from about 5.30am until 6.30pm. The curtains are inadequate to cut out all the headlights and certainly do nothing to reduce the noise level from the traffic.||A single WC (you can hear everything) & separate shower & wash basin were the basic facilities on offer. ||There was one wineglass, 3 small tumblers and 6 pint glasses, plenty of plates & knives & forks.||We were there for two weeks and didn't get a change of bedding or towels in that time and no-one came to clean. This wouldn't have been a problem if there had been cleaning materials left but the only items were a dustpan & brush! No floor mop, brush, cloths, or cleaning products.||It is very convenient for the main ski lifts - just cross the busy road and you are in the car park - and there are restaurants within easy walking distance by road or field.||My suggestion would be to go to Ellmau - 5 mins further up the road - where there is more going on and it is quieter with the same access...

Read moreWe have booked the room(flat with two bedrooms for two and kitchen) via 3rd party quite cheaply. There is a main building and then there is at least one building with flats where we were. ||THE SERVICE - We have arrived about 15minutes before the check-in time in our papers, the waiter was talking to people at some table and it took like 5 minutes until he (knowing we were waiting there) came to ask what we wanted. Then he took our voucher gave us some paper to fill and said we will have to wait. After we filled it we had to wait another 10 minutes at the bar.. Then a lady appeared, collected our paper and 45euro for end-cleaning and gave us the keys. We haven't visited the main building or talked to the staff until the return of the room keys (actually we got only one room key even we were 3 persons). ||THE ROOM - first we noticed that our flat is in the basement. There were windows but only view was to concrete wall or to our cars from the bottom, we did not opened curtains at all.. Anyway these basement level flats are only two, so just ask for not getting them when you are making a reservation. The good side is that the bedrooms were not too small and the kitchen/living room was quite spacious. A toilet is separated from bathroom which has a shower. Parking is available just in front of the building (and more spaces in front of the main building).||THE LOCATION - 15 minutes to the Scheffau village going a bit uphill, there is a LIDL, two banks, and stores with all sorts of goods. If there is a lot of fresh snow or possible ice on road don't try to drive there without 4x4 or snow chains.||THE SKIING - 5-8minute walk to the nearest ski-lift which is 8person cabin lift to Brandstadl (see websites skiwelt.at for more). One day there was a heavy wind and snowing so all the lifts were closed. Fortunately there are more options - the nearest ski-lift (rail cabin) is at Ellmau which is about 15 minutes...
