STIERALM PENKEN — Restaurant in Schwendau

For a great apres-ski experience, or just a great experience in general head to Stieralm Penken, where you’ll find cool settings, stunning views (on one side of restaurant atleast), great music, appealing menu items, and super professional/hospitable/& friendly service (Tibor is the man)! Its location is awesome as its steps from the gondola down allowing you to maximize partying till the last second. Staff was very friendly and efficient-didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks, music choices set a nice vibe. Thanks to the ski instructors who congregate there at the end of day, and showed my son a good time with the nail and hammer game (don’t know what it’s called). You have to have Tibor as your waiter, him and his nuss shots...

What a difference does it make when you see that the management and the staff really care about the brand - Stieralm was my favourite restaurant on the slopes. Not just your usual skiing lunch venue, it’s a top-class restaurant with an incredible selection of meals that caters to every taste and diet (vegan dishes are not so easy to find in Tirol, but here you can have it). Presentation of food doesn’t let down either. Fun atmosphere, perfect apres-ski vibe and great selection of drinks - I especially recommend trying their local spritz with oranges. Absolutely horrible service, avoid it lunchtime. My teenagers came alone for lunch during ski class break and ordered food. After 40 mins, the food was still not there. When I got there asking for their food. The waiter and waitress didn’t even have their order. The whole thing took 50 mins considering the kids had only one hour break and they couldn’t even get their food by 13:00. In fact, my kids had to leave empty stomach for their afternoon class. I don’t understand why everyone else even the clients who arrived later...
