Gasthof Brückenwirt — Restaurant in Spittal an der Drau

Licht und Schatten. Wir haben in Spittal spontan ein Zimmer gebraucht und dort eines zu einem vernünftigen Preis gefunden. Die Buchung über's Telefon war unkompliziert und freundlich. Beim Eintreffen wurden wir ebenfalls freundlich empfangen und gingen sofort auf's Zimmer. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und sauber mit großem Balkon, von dem aus man auf den Fluss blickte. Die Unterkunft ist eine Empfehlung wert. Was man allerdings weder vom Essen im dortigen Restaurant noch vom inkludierten Frühstück behaupten kann. Im Restaurant gilt die Devise: Quantität vor Qualität. Große Portionen, das meiste mit viel Pommes Frittes schnell auf den Teller geknallt und dann den Gästen ohne besondere Höflichkeit vorgesetzt. Dem vornehmlich älteren Publikum ist es vermutlich egal, wenn die Panier vom Schnitzel letschert in irgendeiner Flüssigkeit daherschwimmt. Oder das Bier schon beim Servieren übergeht und sich über den Glastisch ohne Tischtuch ergießt und man dann halt einfach vor einer Bierlacke sitzen gelassen wird. Gut, über Geschmack lässt sich streiten und nicht jeder hat die gleichen Ansprüche an den Service. Ich würde jedenfalls vom Restaurant die Finger lassen, wenn nicht nur die reine Kalorienzufuhr im Vordergrund stehen soll. Beim Frühstück waren, wo wir gekommen sind, Säfte, Wurst etc. vom zahlreichen Publikum schon leergetrunken und weggegessen, und ich hätte nicht bemerkt, dass sich irgendjemand auch nur ansatzweise für Nachschub verantwortlich gefühlt hat. great family restaurant with delicious austrian authentic food... the staff was very friendly and the interior fits to the restaurant... price level is very fair and the size of the meals is very big so nobody needs to leave hungry at all... it is still famuly owned and you can feel the spirit... fmit is also very nice for celebrations and you can have a seperate room... for your party you can also pre-order food and pick it up including the plates for keeping the food warm. really...
