Gasthaus zur Taverne — Restaurant in St. Pölten

Had one of the best experiences here at Gasthaus zur Taverne! After a dip in the nearby lake, I went there for a lunch. 3.5 hours later I found myself still sitting n the outdoor seat area and enjoying my time chatting with one of the owners while playing with Pulsar (the owners golden retriever dog). Had a delicious lamb dish, a couple of drinks and great chat with the owner and played with Pulsar (the owners golden retriever dog) for most of the time 🤗 Moreover, I didn’t realise they only accept cash, I had some cash with me but it was 6 euros less than my bill. The owner generously accept it and said don’t worry about it! Plus gave me a two free candies!! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Dankeshen ☺️

P.S. it’s a Turkish family owned restaurant who also cook so cant emphasise how authentic...

This place is very good food and really good service. We are from out of town and found the restaurant down the street from our apartment. Very kid friendly and we're able to work with us even though we do not speak German. You can tell this is a local spot and felt like we got some looks. But overall it was a good experience and look forward...

Ich habe mir gestern Abend eine Pizza Romana (mit Sardellen und Oliven) zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Habe mich dann in das Gastlokal gesetzt und dort auf meine Pizza gewartet. Ich muss sagen, das Lokal ist sehr sauber und gepflegt (auch die Menükarten nicht klebrig, wie man es leider oft sieht), die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und das Essen war super schnell fertig. Die Pizza war liebevoll belegt (nicht einfach alles draufgeschmissen), dies hat sich auch im Geschmack gezeigt. Der Teig war fluffig und dennoch knusprig, die Qualität des Belags qualitativ hochwertig. Preis-Leistung unschlagbar! Die Empfehlung meiner Nachbarin kann ich zu 100% nachvollziehen. Ich überlege ob ich vielleicht nächstes Mal gleich in der Gaststätte esse, weil der Geruch der Pizza unbestechlich war und ich es fast nicht nach Hause geschafft...
