Lucky Fen — Restaurant in Vienna

Me and my fiancée where visiting Vienna for a couple of days, and decided to go out to eat. We were quite disappointing that many restaurants where already closing on a Wednesday, early in the evening, after almost settling for a kebab or a pizza, i spotted Lucky Fen.

we where greeted a bit stern by the hostesses, but it might have been due to the language barrier ;) she asked if we wanted the large or the small buffet, the large one it was. it was not a busy night we could chose our own table so we did, there where a couple of other guests enjoying themselfs when seated we where asked if we wanted something to drink by a lovely lady, a bit later our drinks arrived and where invited to used the buffet,

There where many dishes to chose from , i really liked the stir fry with chicken and vegetables, the pork with unions, the fried fish in a spicy sauce, and noodles, the noodles where lukewarm. but if you stir it before you pick you portion, is fine. (but be careful! the serving spoons are piping HOT!), the mini spring roles where dried out, cold and very chewy. no one asked if everything was to our satisfaction or asked if we wanted or needed anything more, which i didn't mind. we just came to eat. the desert buffet isn't much more then fruit cocktail and dry cake, but they had deep fried banana fritters which i love and know from Indonesia.

after that we paid, the Hostess charged us with the small buffet since it was still before 21:00 and we didn't use the sushi or soup buffet, i think this was very generous of her! .

the decor isn't very polished, dark stains inside lampshades, walls poorly finished, dirty mirrors, soda bottles stacked in plain site, but they did try to decorate and give it a modern oriental look.

Overall i think this place could benefit from a bit more attention to detail especially to keep the food equally warm, BUT it is great value for money and pretty good food! it was a lot more satisfying then the chicken sandwich for i had lunch, overall its a...

Auf den ersten Blick ein guter Eindruck! Beim genauren hinsehen wird es jedoch ziemlich lieblos, leider ist kein schönes Ambiente gegeben und im hinteren Bereich des lokales ist es viel zu warm, worauf jedoch auch hingewiesen wird. Zusätzlich zerstören die vielen Alkohol Flaschen, die im ganzen Restaurant als Dekoration stehen, das letzte bisschen Restambiente das noch gegeben wäre. An unserem Tisch gingen 3 verschiedene Kellner an uns vorbei, alle bedienten die ungefähr 6 Tische ohne ersichtliche Einteilung. Erst nach über 10 Minuten Wartezeit nahm man unsere Getränkebestellungen auf. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht gut. Zudem ist das Buffet in 2 Gruppen eingeteilt, Sushi kostet auch extra. Das Große Buffet (mit Sushi und Teppanyaki) kostet rund 14 Euro. Nur dafür dass, das Sushi teilweise vertrocknet und ich auf meinen Teppanyaki-Teller (der zwangweise durch mangelnde Auswahl nur aus Meeresfrüchten und pilzen Bestand ) rund 20!!! Minuten warten musste, finde ich den Preis viel zu hoch. Die Hauptgerichte sind auch mäßig, etwas von dem ich nur abraten kann sind die gebratene Ente(vollkommen trocken und defintiv nicht mehr frisch!) und die Hummerscheren( selbes in Orange). Die Bedienung ist freundlich aber es wirkt alles sehr unorganisiert,da wir unter anderen von 4 verschiedenen Kellnerinnen bedient worden sind. Am Teppanyaki-Abgabe Tisch stand noch altes gebrauchtes Geschirr, direkt daneben sollen die Gäste die frischen Teller abstellen. Auch unsere Teller vom Tisch wurden oft 'übersehen'. An den Tischen sind weder Servietten, Zahnstocher oder Soyasoße gegeben. Auch beim Buffet stand keine Soyasoße zur Wahl. Nach den Klipps für das Teppanyaki musste ich zweimal nachfragen. Zudem wurde ich 2 mal gefragt ob das nicht mein Teller wäre- da die tische nicht mit Nummern oder auch anders markiert waren. Nachspeisen sind von der Auswahl sehr begrenzt und auch hier nicht sonderlich gut,es gab weder Früchte noch Litschi zur Auswahl. Ich würde dieses Restaurant auf keinem Fall...
