Review of Restaurant Heuberg (Vienna) Heuberg gifted us more than a meal—it felt like dining with family. Owners Radha and Sridharan welcomed us with such genuine warmth, we left with full hearts and souls.

As vegetarians craving authentic South Indian flavors, we were thrilled: ✨ Idly – soft, cloud-like pillows in aromatic sambar. ✨ Dosa – golden, crisp perfection with fresh coconut chutney. Every bite tasted like Radha’s own kitchen—honest, traditional, and crafted with love.

But it was Radha and Sridharan’s kindness that made it unforgettable. Radha noticed my joy and brought extra rasam “for the soul.” Sridharan shared stories of his mother’s recipes, turning dinner into a journey through Chennai. Their care was tangible—remembering our chutney preference, smiling as we savored each bite.

A hidden gem. The first restaurant in Vienna I was inspired to write a review about, because getting authentic Indian cuisine in Vienna is rather hard, in my opinion -- most places substitute salt for spice and have vastly over-inflated reputations. I can't give 5 stars because the property is a bit out of repair, but I'd rather have good food than perfect decor. We had decided to stay away from Indian food and try only local cuisine, however when we saw an Indian restaurant in this part of Vienna we could not stop ourselves. So glad we came here.
