Landskron Castle — Restaurant in Villach

The bird show on top of the castle ruins is very cool. Especially the way they treat their animals is admirable as they treat them with respect and give them liberty to a certain degree. The bird show itself was construed in an interesting way, with several methods of presenting the way these birds would hunt in the wild. The monkeys are a bit few in number though, with little variation in species. This could be something they can add to in the future. You can't understand the lady who is speaking in English, actually translating the other one. But she's adorable :) the show itself is well handled and you can see they treat those animals with kindness. The negative thing is coffee (really bad) in the restaurant near the entrance,expensive souvenirs (7€ for a magnet) and the parking is way down the road so you have to walk UP HILL for 10min to reach the castle. Found this gem while driving from Austria to Italy. We almost got lost after getting off the highway, but once we got our bearings, it was a breeze. Once there, if available, you can park right up to the castle. Otherwise, just walk up the steep hill (15 minutes).
