Small's Takeaway — Restaurant in Bimini

If you're looking for a filling, savory meal then this is the best restaurant in all of Bimini.

Spent a week in Bimini walking around, eating, and exploring the islands. Heard from some locals and other travelers that the fried fish and burgers here were great and decided to give it a try. The food is incredibly fresh and made to order. Because we couldn't choose between a few dishes, we tried three!

The cheeseburger was a large party, cooked to the perfect temperature. It has a nice sear with great flavor and super juicy. It's served with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, and GRILLED ONION. As you can tell, I was thrilled by the grilled, sliced onion. Even in the states, that sort of preparation is rare and often costs extra. The burger is also served on the local Bimini bread, which is an added bonus!

The fried fish (snapper for us) was delightful! The fish was exceptionally fresh and the portion size impressive. The cracked (fried) conch was being made as we ordered, hand smashed and the most tender conch I've ever had. Conch salad is my traditional favorite but this preparation was delicious!

Each meal came with either a large side of fries or a fresh salad. The woman making our food was exceptionally pleasant and patient as we tried to decide what we wanted. It was also a busy spot with lots of locals, which is always a good sign! Probably because the prices...

Ms. Taxi prepares her cracked conch and lobster with love. No blender.....she tenderizes the traditional way.

CRacked conch is rich and crispy served with fries or salad. I get salad $15. Most get fries. CRacked lobster is lighter dish at $20.

I haven't had anything else lately, but have enjoyed the burgers.

Ask for homemade hot sauce...vinegary and sometimes hotter than others, depending on the batch.

Porch is screened in. There's a TV and tables to sit at.

Kitchen is clean.....you can see it from dining area. I don't eat anywhere else, except Small's Take Away on Bimini.....we cook or call ahead to Ms. Taxi...

The food here is made with love, as if I am eating from my grandmother’s kitchen. The burgers, red snapper and conch were all so delicious. Best food we had in Bimini and we came back for more. Forget the stuff served at the resorts. This is where the locals get their fresh food. We have already recommended Small’s Takeaway to friends and family...
