The island of Bimini was our first stop on a cruise to the Bahamas. It is very small but very beautiful. We walked around the area near where the ship docked and searched for the best way to get to Radio Beach in Alice Town. After a hard sell from the golf cart people, we opted to take a taxi and it was a very wise decision. Someone else who knew the island very well was driving and also pointing out attractions, answering our questions and giving tips on how to best enjoy our short time on the island. Radio Beach is just gorgeous. The water is beautiful and clear. We rented a couple of chairs and relaxed with some drinks (they were very good). We also visited the shopping area across the street to search for souvenirs. When we were ready to leave, there were plenty of taxes waiting to return us to our drop off point near the ship. Round trip for the taxi ride was $10 per person. After visiting the rest of the islands on our trip, we really thought Bimini was the one we...

Has a very cute swing to the left after you park the golf cart. There's a nice walking path they're broken chairs everywhere and there are umbrellas and chairs to rent. It is in a very congested spot on the island met a few good people there but mostly the island is full of scammers and do not buy or rent the golf carts from anybody other than the resort. If you went on a cruise ship or ask the guards or the security when you get near the resort which ones you should rent. I was scammed buy the golf carts when you get off the dock from the cruise ships. How to spend my last hour and a half in Bimini with the police trying to get my money back. There's a man named Richie and his sister that rent the golf carts his sister has a little gray and white dog with a little bit of brown on it and they are huge scam artists it's known and they rip many people off every day the police said that they go through this every single day with them. So...

People don't really start showing up until noon, and even then there aren't that many people (<100). The north side has some shade in the morning. At the far south end they have chairs and umbrellas for rent, and up at the road there are a number of shops with food, ice cream, drinks, etc. The liquor store is a few blocks away too 😉 The water is crystal clear and amazingly beautiful! There are a few friendly dogs that run the beach, so don't leave any food out. We saw several stingrays one day, and a school of fish on another. I've read other reviews mentioning trash, etc. Let's be clear - sadly, there is litter all over Bimini. What litter we saw on the beach did not spoil our vacation, nor did it keep us from coming back each day. I suspect most of the trash is left behind by tourists that think someone else is paid to clean up after them. If you visit Bimini, do the right thing and clean up after yourself. In summation, this beach is magical - at least it was for us.

Considering it is free I didn’t expect much. Lots of trash & broken glass which was not expected on an advertised tourist spot. Very glad I didn’t have small children here. The weather was cloudy & dark so nothing opened until after 10 (which we didn’t know until we paid $25 for taxi from cruise port to the beach/Alice town at 8:30) & no one was out there to sell umbrellas/chairs. The little restaurants had no conch which is why we came this way. Lots of flies around the restaurants here. The drinks sold were ok but pricey at $15 for mostly ice with premade mix & some Ricardo Rum in a clear small solo type cup. Lots of conch shells and the water was easy to get into. Floating trash here and there which was gross. Side note not related to the review: Can’t take the big conch shells on the boat, they will take them from you as they are “wildlife” even when empty & cracked :/
