Royal Caribbean beach excursion gone bad! A group of us from the cruise ship The Vision Of The Sea on 2/12/2024 had signed up for a Royal Caribbean beach excursion when we were docked in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. The excursion was a beach club named Maxxi's Bahamian Beach Club. We paid $65.00 each for this excursion and it was not worth it. It was a small open-air bar/restaurant with a bunch of beach chairs on the beach. The place was run down and not well kept. The beach was very rocky and had only one access area to the ocean which was a wooden ramp. This place is a local beach bar club. Not a resort type beach. Kind of like the dive bar we have back home but with a water view. I am just upset that Royal Caribbean charged us $65.00 each to go there for 4 hours. I was taking some pictures of Maxxi's Bahamian beach club to show to the excursion desk on board the ship when one of the workers came up to me and started giving me a hard time. Telling me he would kick me off the property if I didn't show him my camera and give him my name and cabin number. I refused. He wouldn't stop harassing me so I went back to my group of friends. He didn't follow me. Strength in numbers. When we got back to the cruise ship, the Vision of the Sea, we went right to the excursion desk to report what happened to us and show him the pictures I had taken. The excursion manager said he would look into it. The next day the excursion manager got back to me with a response. He said that the employee of Maxxi's Bahamian beach club didn't want me taking pictures of private property that was adjacent to the beach club. That was untrue. I only took pictures of Maxxi's Bahamian beach club property and the ocean which belongs to God! These pictures that I have taken are recent and do not match other pictures on this site. The excursion manager said he was sorry for what had happened and offered a 10% discount off the price we paid. I told him we should have gotten a full refund because the incident ruined our day. The Maxxi’s employee threatened and harassed us and we were afraid for our safety. And the manager said 10% off was the best he could do. To sum it all up. Royal Caribbean charged way too much to go to this Beach Bar. Think twice before you take the Maxxi's Bahamian Beach Club excursion on a Royal...

We descended upon them with 80 people. We had 2 hours. She warned us it would be a bit. Taking into consideration that 25% of what you're paying is taxes, everything was really reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised, as it was part of a guided tour, and you know how bad those can go. They're running around like mad, trying to take care of everyone. The food was fantastic. Just spectacular. We had no alcohol. Two platters, a side and 2 sodas. $46. There were more expensive platters on the menu. Our tablemate ordered the catch of the day, which turned out to be a whole fish that didn't fit on the plate, plus assorted sides. She was ecstatic. I'd definitely come here again. Oh. we were out of there with 20 minutes to spare. This included forgetting to serve the side of potato wedges that may have been the best I even had, so I'm glad I asked her to bring them anyway....

I was with a party of 3 and we just went for drinks. We ordered 4 Kalik beers at 4.00 menu price & 1 coconut water 5.00. The first bill we were charged for 1 beer 4.00 and 3 beers 5.00. Upon inquiry they said they would adjust the bill. Then the 2nd bill came back even higher than the first bill charging 5.00 for each beer. I had to speak to a Supervisor who told me that the menu had changed. What a bunch of rubbish. I said I want the bill adjusted to the original menu price and I had pics of the menu and the 2 bills I received. They finally relented and charged the original menu price of 4 beers @ 4.00. But to honestly scam for a few bucks on a customer's bill...it was all about the principal. I felt discriminated against because my party of...

This beach club bar was exactly what we were looking for the day. They are a great location with great outdoor games, along with an amazing selection of drinks and a once in a life time opportunity experience especially if you're not from around here, and there and is no other beach bar I would recommend other than them. We enjoyed the day starting from the sun rays on the deck and viewing the beach, then playing some toss games with the options of volleyball and other outdoor games, and ended the night with a beach bonfire. The staff was great with pointing out when the sunset happened and getting great angles with that. Would highly recommend to any friends or family who visits the area without a doubt!

The place was not quite what it was described as. Small beach area. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, but it did take a while to get the food. For $55+ pp for transport and chairs it was a bit pricey for what we got. Would have been nice to have the volleyball and bocci courts not filled with weeds. Staff were good and I'm not sure in general what beaches are like on Grand Bahama.
