Margarita Villa Sand Bar — Restaurant in East Grand Bahama

EAT HERE. This was the best food I had throughout the entire duration of my stay. If I could give it a 10 star review I would. The two ladies running the place were SO friendly, the service was amazing. I would dare to say this might be the best food I’ve had, ever. We ate the fish bites for an app, DEVOURED them might be better terminology. Then we followed that up with the smothered fish & the blackened fish filets. Both, incredible. It was so good we then asked for another order of the fish bites to take to-go with us so we could enjoy it as a late night snack. We decided solely off of our visit to this place that we will return to the Bahamas just to come and eat their food again. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. The only downside I have - is that we didn’t discover this earlier in our trip. I would have eaten here every single day and tried everything on the menu. Oh and the sides!! Fries - CRISP, hot, amazing. And the slaw? Served on a bed of lettuce, crisp & fresh, SO GOOD. I nearly licked my plate clean. My wife and me had a fun day at this authentic bar on Grand Bahama. After our morning dives we came here to have some lunch and a couple of drinks which turned into another and another and a couple of last drinks. The atmosphere is really oldschool but in the best way you can imagine. Locals come here so we got to learn a lot about the island and its recent history. Love this local spot! Sand floors so wear comfy shoes you don’t mind getting sandy. Hands down BEST COCONUT SHRIMP with a spicy plum sauce!!
