Canton House — Restaurant in New Providence

Update: I gave three stars but changing it to two. Every few months I eat from here. Unfortunately it will be the last. I received cold chicken and lukewarm rice. The chicken tasted like the chef reheated it but only for 30 seconds. I could taste the freezer burn. My wife and I both spat the meat out the same time. It’s very much a turn off and something you don’t forget. So I don’t see myself coming again. The lady that had served me was pleasant, but upon returning she was defensive and on the side of the chef and explained how they cook. But she offered a refund. So that’s that. I will be going to another place from now on see how it turns out.

Food is not consistently good. However, I do believe it's one of the best tasting Chinese restaurant out there. Although I cannot confirm where the authenticity of the ordered meat as in where it may come from, I do believe it's 100% meat and not flavored dough mixed with meat like I have experienced with other Asian restaurants. My issue is mainly the poor customer service at times and the fact that you do not get exactly what u ask for; "please put gravy or sauce over the rice" almost always means your rice will be dry. If you dnt have extra cooked sauce for the rice at least provide duck and soy sauce...

Everything was delicious. Food was hot, delicious and the service was very appealing. It wasn't crowded when I went so I didn't have to wait long. Inside was clean, the server was nice and friendly. They definitely give you a lot of food for your money. The prices are reasonable and it's a definite must eat...
