An African festival was hosted here May 25th 2024. While the drumming was a great feature there was no authentic African food to match the title of the event. The beef kaboobs was tasty however it took an hour to be brought out. There was no African beer or drink option either. While it did rain, there was no evidence of proper planning. The servers were not dressed in African attire...a few customers had their heads wrapped or an African print pants on. The DJ began with African drumming background music. However, I heard no modern African music that would get serious rádio play. They then switched to Afrobeat but eventually switched to reggae muisc.
The event seemed to attract a more bouji crowd and no one from the modern day Africa. There are tons of Africans who run car businesses in the country but we saw none of them present. All in all we loved the flyer and the concept of the event but for the last three ocassions the event has had...
Read moreI wouldn’t go back if given the opportunity. There seemed to really only be a couple of patrons in the building and a lot of people that were there to just hang out with the staff (maybe off duty staff themselves). Our server was very nice, but was slow. We got menus and ordered an appetizer - probably waited 15-20 minutes to order a drink and our food after that. Food took a while to come out, and once it did, the only thing warm were the fries. Flavor wise, the burger was good, but it was cold. Chicken sandwich was mostly breading and sauce, little chicken; also cold. The fries were delicious and very warm! And the spinach dip was also decent and warm. Cocktail was fine but not worth $14.
Karaoke was supposed to start at 8:30pm and nothing had started by 9pm...

Squash Club feels like it would be the perfect place to be a casual, daily chill-out spot that you'd just go to when passing by, kind of like Starbucks with their outdoor seating and free wifi, or a more polished version of the average Nassuvian bar and restaurant. Instead, Squash Club seems to be aiming for a restrictively specific crowd, with its high prices, heavy emphasis on catering, wifi being unavailable unless certain requirements are met, and themed events with upsetting asking prices of entry.
I feel more and more like this place is victim to a sort of 'over-poshification' we see a lot in Nassau, when its location would've made it a great place to go without having to commit so much to doing so. I only really went for certain events before, but generally I find the place...
