I came by for brunch at My Café in Riffa, which has become a go to spot for many people. The food overall was good, with a few standout items and some that felt more average. The avocado toast was definitely the best dish. It was fresh, flavorful, and really well made. The feteer had a great presentation and looked very appealing when it arrived, but the taste did not quite match the look and ended up feeling a bit plain. The omelette and the eggs florentine were both just okay. They were not bad, but nothing special either.
The only real downside was the service. It felt slow and a little disconnected. The staff were polite but not very attentive, and it seemed like they were either overwhelmed or not very focused. For a place that so many people visit and enjoy, I expected the service to be smoother and more in sync with the overall vibe.
That being said, I can understand why My Cafe is a popular choice. The space is nice, the menu has good variety, and the food shows potential. With more consistent service, it could be an even better experience. I would come back again and hope to see some...
Read moreThe place is nice with great ambiance. The food quality does not justify the price, however, it’s fine if you will visit once in a while. We went today for breakfast and we ordered variety of food. Their omelette wasn’t too good, one had tomatoes where it wasn’t mentioned that in the menu while the other was too dry. Their Nutella french toast wasn’t that bad, but I wished that there was more Nutella than drizzles. Their zaatar pizza was amazing (finally something enjoyable to eat). As for our seating, we decided to pick a quiet area away from the noise, only to find out it was a smoking area. We were neither notified nor saw a sign stating this information. Thankfully, there wasn’t anyone smoking until we were done from eating where we had to cut our outing short by leaving asap when someone started smoking 😂. In all fairness they apologized for the missing information of the smoking area, and they removed the tomato omelette from the bill due to the missing information. Might visit again but not very soon (when it is...
Read moreWent for lunch at this nice spot and I have to say it all look really nice. To begin with, the outdoor seating is spectacular as it feels nice, looks nice and is comfortable especially during this winter. The food we had tasted delicious, I personally love the truffle pasta, but the fried chicken was described to have sriracha so I expected it to have a sting of spiciness but it was just sweet. For the chicken penne, while it tasted nice I was not comfortable that the chicken was cut into big cubes, it doesn’t feel natural for me. I liked the tiramisu which had something crispy on the bottom and I liked the strawberry lemonade drink I had. Whilst their service staff are incredibly nice to deal with, they are not quite there yet, we had to wait a long time to be approached by staff when we first sat down on the table, we ordered water from the beginning and only had it later while we were eating, I feel like these are things that need to...
