CAFE Mushroom — Restaurant in Dhaka Metropolitan

This little bbq joint with delectable food and fair prices has been popping in my mind for the last couple of months. Finally had the opportunity to visit yesterday. They do Whole Mutton BBQ/Beef Brisket on Mondays. Lucky me! It was a 650BDT platter that delivers 250gm of slow cooked(The chef said it was in the drum/oven for almost 6 hours! and we agree) BBQ mutton and home style flat bread(Atar Ruti). The cook on the mutton was near perfect. Charred on the outside, tender with very good meat juice retention. And they used very little spices instead of lathering it with Masalas we often see in our cuisine. Thank God! My only complaint would be not pairing it with BBQ sauce. The place is small, run by a lovely husband and wife pair. 10/12 people can seat at once and the setting is like typical small Bangla style restaurant. Don't expect fancy restaurant decor or service.It's a humble joint in the belly of Mirpur 10.

Now let's talk about the prices. It's remarkably affordable. I talked about the Mutton platter. The Beef Brisket is 400BDT. Infact their entire menu is budget friendly. Just don't expect imported meat.

I honestly found joy eating and talking with the couple. These days the places I am used to eg. Woodlouse Grill, Meat Theory, Lonestar or Arrowhead has become a burden on my pocket at times. Don't get me wrong. I love what these upscale steakhouses has to offer. But the thing is there's more room in my heart for a place like this. Delicious meat, and maybe a bi weekly visit without straining the wallet. Who says no! 😌

I don’t think anyone can find a better BBQ place in dhaka with cheaper price. But make no mistake, the affordable price doesn’t affect the food quality which is top notch.

I found the best ramen in the town here. The yogurt salad was also fantastic. Quality of the food is fantastic. They use healthy and hygienic ingredients for cooking. Use butter in stead of soyabean.
