Dina's Bar & Cafe — Restaurant in Barbados

Arrived at the resturaunt with family from Barbados. The man guarding the grass area seemed very dismissive of us while we tried to park. While waiting for seating we were overlooked in favour of two white tourists ladies, who were told not to occupy certain tables because they were reserved, this was instantly ignored. We then stood a while, waiting on how we should order and where to sit. I then had to ask staff how we should proceed, this seemed like a physical effort. After 5mins of sitting at a table discussing the whole experience we left. In summing up. I've travelled extensively over the globe and feel Bim is my 2nd home. But I realise in some establishments I will be classed as a 2nd class citezen until I open my mouth. Dina's Bar must do better to treat EVERYONE walking in as a values customer. Absolutely would not recommend going here for a quick lunch. Service is extremely slow. It took 10 minutes for our order to be taken, and then about 40 minutes (or more) for our food to actually come out. There was no apology, we even got blamed for the long wait because of some incident in the kitchen that happened after we ordered. I assume they were trying to be funny, but we were not amused. I think we could have been offered a beverage at least while we were waiting.

In addition to that, there were so many flies as it was outdoor seating. However when we asked for a fly fan, we never got one and the table next to ours got three. The staff was going out of their way to accommodate them as they were Americans. I couldn't really savour my meal like I wanted to because we waited so long and there were too many flies. Came here with my family to have lunch and it was a lovely experience. The restaurant offers outdoor picnic style seating on the first floor as well as elevated seating up a flight of stairs. The chairs and comfortable and the tables are spacious. The menu offers fresh seafood picks as well as staples such as peas and rice, macaroni and salads. The service was great, we did not wait long to order and our drinks/food arrived shortly after. Everything was fresh, delicious and we had no complaints. Everyone cleaned their plates and we will be back for more when we are in the area. We had the coconut shrimp, garlic shrimp, grilled king fish, lemonade and mauby.
