A great meal ruined at the end. Fantastic food, authentic and hot! 2 adults and 2 children, they don’t do children’s meals so both had full size adult meals all with drinks. ( no problem here) I asked for a sample/ super small portion of ackee salt fish on the side as I’ve never tried it, and I’m kean to try it in Barbados right? A small cup came out with a sample in…I enjoyed a few spoon fulls and that was that. When the bill came I had 5 meals on there..£120 in total, when i questioned it I was told the ackee salt fish was charged as a full meal as they only do meals. ( but it wasn’t a meal?) Manager told the waitress to apologise and that’s that. Reluctantly they took 8bbd ( about £3) I was not satisfied and left pretty annoyed..almost robbed. I wouldn’t return because of this. As I said, lovely food but the manager/owner is clearly grabbing every $$$ he can right now, like many on the island. Waitresses gave a great service 👍🏻 Easily for me a five star experience food wise shatterd by the manager/owner last minute.

Food here was good a little bit pricey but I guess because we're situated the price is a bit higher. Amazing views with walk down to the beach from the outdoor eating area which is nice. Only issue I had was service was very slow and unattentive even after asking for the bill it took 20 to 25 minutes just to get the bill and the we're not even that busy so I don't understand why it would take that long to get the bill and there is a mandatory 12% gratuity attitude to the bill no matter what I always tip but with such a slow unattended service I feel 12% is a lot based on the service I received. Even when I ran out of water I literally walked up to the bar and asked for the water myself because no one was around or attentive enough to notice are drinks we're finished. Overall I think this is a Fair review.

We had an amazing experience at Reggie's!! We found this place by accident as we were exploring the west coast of Barbados and I'm so glad that we did! The food was amazing and Reggie and team really took care of us. We had a couple of vegetarians with us and Reggie was able to cook them up some delicious barbequed vegan treats - it was the best veggie food they ate all holiday. I tasted the Jerk chicken and the Curry goat and both were amazingggggggggg!!!! We'll be back for sure next time we're in Barbados! Thanks Reggie :D ps. If you're heading there, call up ahead and you'll have delicious food waiting for you on arrival!

Bare with me here, I try not to write reviews but this place really needs to hear this feedback.

Everything was fine in the beginning, there were 6 of us, we were seated quickly and everything was going fine. It was going fine until we were basically ignored for 10 minutes waiting for menus.

Still despite the brief wait, we were still hopeful and happy. We placed our drink order with a young man with dreads, we still hadn't decided what we were having to eat when the young man rudely let us know that, "there were other reservations, so we needed to know right now."

okay. we can appreciate people being on a time crunch. so we ordered and waited patiently for our food.

here's a key piece of information: we got 4 jerk chickens, two with plantain and fries, and 2 curry chickens, one of those had plantain.

we waited for about 45 minutes for 2 cokes, 2 daquiris and 6 waters to come out. then waited around an hour and a half for our food.

when our food came out, we were missing our plantain, and one of my friends was missing his meal entirely. we asked one of the other servers about the missing plantain and she told us that, "it came on the side, so it will come out after." okay. we nibbled away at our meals while we waited for our last friend to get his meal.

a few minutes later, our server from the beginning came out and let my friend know that his chicken was, "still being made and will take 10 minutes." okay! perfect! so we ate, a little ticked off at how long everything took, but still not fully upset.

we got upset when the same young man came back and told my friend that there was no more chicken and that he should get something else.

if you knew that there was no chicken why make my friend wait 15 minutes for food that was never going to come? he ended up having to wait another 10 minutes for his food and, "it wasn't even that good."

remember the plantain that was supposed to come? it never did. and honestly, that plantain was the only thing that was going to save that meal for us. we opted to not even bother with it and ask somebody to take it off the meal.

when we finally asked for the bill, we were absolutely shocked to see that plantain that never touched our table was somehow on the bill, and a charge for gratuity was also added onto the bill.

plantain we never received and gratuity for the worst service possible. alright.

we kindly asked our server to take the plantain off of the bill in which he responded, "that easy", snatched the receipt out of my hand, crumpled it up in front of my face and shoved it into his pocket. no apology. no acknowledgement of the mistake. a simple, "that easy."

whatever. we paid the bill, we paid the undeserved gratuity- but we were ABSOLUTELY NOT letting them keep our change. tell me why it took 20 minutes for us to get change. when all we wanted to do was leave this restaurant, we had to stand up and be blatantly ignored by our server who KNEW that we were waiting for our change.

Our server finally acknowledged and sent over the same woman who told us our, "plantain was on the way." to give us our change. and she rudely let us know her opinion of the situation, and how she believed it to be a tip, so she didn't feel the need to give it back to us.

a tip for what? we already gave you your gratuity. surely she nor her colleague believed themselves to have done a good job that deserved a tip. we promptly left once we got out change. good riddance.

reggie, this experience...

The four of us were so excited. We had heard such positive things about the place and driving up from Christ Church was an adventure for us tourists. We finally got there and managed to park just off the very busy road it’s fronted on. Giddy! Perfect patio, 3:00 pm. Lunch/dinner. Beautiful day with waves crashing right below us. I had puzzled over the menu online as the platter for 4 was $135 “each” with no oxtail while an oxtail plate was $40. I was told that the platter for 4 was $135 per person. First why not just put the price? $540! … it includes a bunch of sides and a rum punch ($18) but it seemed so much more per person I was kind of begging for an explanation but the server just went cold and said, “ If you don’t like it get something else.” Yes. I know how ordering at a restaurant works. I wisely got the oxtail and it may well have been the best I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in Toronto decades and oxtail is my first choice at a Jamaican joint so, great. The rum punch too was good although I’m not any connoisseur … my wife’s jerk pork was mediocre; a bit dry but the sour taste of young smoke was not good and our friends’ chicken (breast, always a fail to be fair) was very dry and also that amateur sour smoke flavor. The “jerk” sauce was barbecue more than any jerk sauce I’ve experienced. And the original server wouldn’t even come to our table as I had been so??? Curious? The reserve server dropped off the food but ignored our empty rum punches and waters until we caught her going by and we all got reupped with lovely cold water and enjoyed the delightful terrace with the amazing motorized shades that took the edge of the dropping sun. The vibe was by then so weird… the room was empty except for a one top…no one asked if we wanted anything else. We did but we’re not going to beg. Yet another server asked if everything was okay like she didn’t want to know and we asked for the bill. Sigh. I hope it was the awkward time but we didn’t make the hours… on the way back south we stopped for a sunset swim and got...

I've never experienced such utter inconsideration and piss poor customer service like I did with Reggie's Real Jamaican Jerk Restaurant in Lower Carlton St .James ! I would never recommend anyone to waste their time with this establishment!

Made reservations for my husband and I for 6:45pm and received my confirmation email which they have to manually confirm . Left home at 5:20pm as we live on the South Coast specifically in Enterprise Christ Church and knew it would be quite a way to St.James . My husband parked the vehicle and as we got out and was walking to where the seating was, a man ( who I guess is the owner ) said that they wouldn't be doing any Dine-in , only Take Away because his staff & him has an event to set up at! . He apologized but quite frankly it meant absolutely nothing!

Why wasn't I notified of Dine- ins not being available and why was the reservation confirmed if they knew they were going to an event ?!

What does having to set up at an event have to do with having a CONFIRMED Reservation ?!

Then he had the audacity to say we can still purchase and take away!

I was so disappointed and angry as we were really looking forward to date night at this establishment and to be ruined by the lack of consideration, communication, respect and poor customer service is...
