I’ve been frequenting this beach since my youth so I basically call it home! Serene waters (seasonally rougher in December) and lots of shade. Perfect for groups and families. Bring a beach towel or chairs. Please remember to take all trash with you because there is no bin on the beach

Just the name Barbados triggers thoughts of swaying palm trees, friendly locals, historic sites, azure waters, and powdery white-sand beaches. Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of North America.

Favourite beach! Why? Easy access (laneway south of Southwinds, and parking across on Gibbes Rd), perfect sand and water, no resorts, no crowds. Which also means no amenities so bring a picnic!

Excellent and fairly quite beach. As other people have said, the cut through is easy to miss ( by southwinds ) and there is some side of the road parking spots in Gibbes Road about 40 yards away. Be mindful of the occasional big waves. My wife was knocked clean off her feet whilst coming out of the water and had her back to the sea when a biggie...

Not worth the detour! Hard to access—just a small path in the middle of nowhere. The beach is now very small, nothing like the older reviews. A big hurricane narrowed the sand and brought in large rocks. Plus, there were some shady locals around. We wasted our time and ended up going to our favorite beach a bit...

The reef on the North end of the beach is called 'new years day reef' and local legend has it that there is always surf there on new years day. Best visited early in the day. A short walk to Mullins beach where there are a variety of refreshments. The Bridgetown / Speightstown bus...
