Het Rooi — Restaurant in Antwerp

Worst restaurant I have ever been to. We have been there with my family during the Antwerp Diamond Cup. When I asked in English to have a table they said that we had a 45-minute wait. However, when I started to speak in Dutch … suddenly they had a table read for us. I spoke in Dutch with my father, but UNFORTUNATELY my mother and grandmother DARED speaking in French (WE ARE IN BELGIUM!!). We spoke in Dutch with every member of the personnel. Nevertheless, they took more than 1 HOUR to serve us, while the person next to us received their food extremely quickly. After waiting for an UNACCEPTABLE time, my father went to ask for our food and suddenly because he spoke directly in a perfect Dutch we received our plate in 3 minutes. My grandmother was supposed to have puree, as written on the menu, but according to one of the server, “she must have imagined it!”....

I was on a business trip to the city and was told, you're to try the best food, it was indeed, I loved the food there as well as the atmosphere. This is a hidden gem towards the other side of the city. I was here for a team lunch and I ordered a Caesar salad.

I must say that I wasn't disappointed, it was a huge portion and was certainly delicious.

The staff was friendly and the service was good. On top of that the terrace and ambience made our visit enjoyable.
