OZZO Sushi & Oriental — Restaurant in Beveren

Went for dinner here and had a nice time. The restaurant had a sharing concept so they offer a lot of small dishes that can be ordered at will.

We chose the Chicken Gyozas, beef tartare, XO pork belly and the Korean chicken.

The Gyozas tasted good but I was bit disappointed that they weren't crispy. Luckily, they had some sesame seeds on them which gave them some crunchiness. Also the lemon it came with seemed a bit out of place.

The beef tartare was nicely seasoned, had some spiciness and some crunchiness from the puffed rice.

The XO pork belly was a bit too dry in my opinion and lacked some flavour. I was the most excited about this one when I ordered but it turned out to be my least favourite dish of the evening.

The Korean chicken was my favourite. The juicy and tender chicken thighs were full of flavour because of the sticky kimchi sauce it was served in, absolutely recommend this one!

We finished our evening by ordering some sushi and those were definitely better than the other sushi restaurants in the neighbourhood!

Next time I'll order some more sushi as that seems to be what this restaurant is best at. However that Korean chicken...

This is the best sushi place in neighbourhood, price is higher than average. Free parking next to hotel is a big advantage. Nice interior. Why only 3/5?? Service is very slow, in fact there should be more people in service. Once we waited 40 min before to order and luckily for ozzo, only 5 min for a bill. So, now is take away only.

Update 12/06/2023 Nothing is changed in the last 6 years. The kitchen is good, the prices are high, the service is average. Interesting fact: when we order in the restaurant portion size is OK, but when I order take away (!!! Same day an hour later) the portion was...

Thai curries with jasmine rice were good. Had a really bad experience with the sushi! Disgusting Sushi to say the least, had it two days back and on insistence from friends/colleagues tired it again only to be disappointed. Cold rice and tasteless sushi. I have a strong belief that horseradish was served instead of wasabi, not at all pungent as the original wasabi. Mochi in dessert was directly served from deep freezer!
