Very nice restaurant with a cosy, warm vibe. Main courses were nice, though a bit small. Linguine with shrimp and truffle oil was nice, could be spiced a bit more aside from the oil but that's just me. The cut steak was tastier and well cooked. The pizza takes the cake in terms of flavour. Great tasting dough, just excellent overall. Dessert I would not get again here. Tiramisu did not taste like tiramisu at all, no coffee flavour, no fresh mascarpone, didn't even taste the biscuits anymore or the cacao on top, everything tasted creamy vanilla, absolute disappointment. I did not eat it, my boyfriend did. Creme brulee was ok but too sweet/not balanced. Cheesecakes was not cake, a few spoonfuls in a cup and also not great. So overall: I'd go back for the pizza...

I had a very good first experience at Trattoria Kaai in October, so I went again with a group of friends. Completely the opposite feedback this time around! Service was slow and inattentive (although we were one of only 4 occupied tables), things that we did not order popped up on our bill, food was horrible. Melanzane parmigiana was dry, aubergines not cooked, mozzarella hard. Tagliata - veal was obviously defrosted while cooked - bland, cold, dry outside and completely cold inside, not to mention a hair on the meat; ruccola yellow. Autumn risotto (chef’s suggestion) was not seasoned, hare was dry (obviously cooked a looooong time ago and just added to the risotto). Such disappointment! Never going back obviously... the only positive - the location...

The pizza’s is always my favorite, was ate many times. Frutti Di Mare are also the best one for starter. Very nice restaurant with beautiful view and very friendly staff. I recommended this place if you want to have lunch or dinner plus can walk around the river in Boom, located between three big cities (Brussels, Antwerp and Mechelen) in Belgium. They offered picnic on the boat (Samen Varen) only on summer I guess. You could enjoy sun on the water with drinks and food with fiends or family.

Sadly, this was a very disappointing experience. The pizza tasted nothing like authentic Italian pizza. The crust was completely soggy, and it was overloaded with toppings, which made it difficult to eat and left it lacking any real flavor. You order additional fries and get like 15 fries which is not acceptable for the price-point. To make matters worse, the service was truly terrible. The staff was unprofessional and inattentive. I cannot recommend this place.

Restaurant by the river with cosy Italian ambience. Bruschetta was very nice. Linguini with shrimps very flavorful and creamy, just a bit strange with the spring onions though. Pizza dough good quality and well-prepared in a brick oven, though not the traditional firewood. The sauce and salami not so great, and too much of oil. Overall, very pleasant restaurant and would have been even better in the spring/summer when we could sit outdoors.
