Mykonos — Restaurant in Bornem

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, I brought along family and friends, I also recommended it to lots of people, but not anymore. Today’s experience was so bad that I am not coming back.

For starters, service was painfully slow. From the mezzes to the main dish, we had to wait more than one hour. In the meantime, our waiter never cared to ask if we were ok, if we wanted to order another drink, nor he apologized due to the long waiting time.

Most of the customers were sitting outside, we too. There were many empty tables, so the slow service was not due to a packed restaurant, as it was the first time I came.

The younger waiter seemed to be friendly and service oriented, unfortunately ours (older guy) was everything but friendly or caring.

If service was bad, food was worse.

I ordered the scampi pikant. As I said, we waited more than one hour for the dish and this is what I received: 9 scampis surrounded by a mountain of plain greek pasta, wich was barely covered with a spoon of tomato sauce and little cheese on the top, not melted and warm as they used to serve it in the past, the saddest thing ever.

The dish came with few flavorless potatoes on the top, no salt or pepper at all. On the menu, salad was mentioned along with the potatoes and greek pasta, but I had to ask for it because the waiter didn’t bring it with my dish, most probably if I didn’t ask for it, he wouldn’t have brought it.

From such a sad insipid plate, I only ate the 9 shrimps. The waiter took away a full plate of food and he didn’t care to ask if food was ok or if there was a problem with it. Clearly the man couldnt care less.

It is such a pity that service and food are going down hill so quickly, 6 months ago food and service were exceptional.

When a customer has to wait for more than hour for such a disappointing dish, for sure, the said customer is not ever...

Great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and efficient, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The owner was extremely friendly, always checking in with a smile, and making sure everything was perfect. Definitely a place I would recommend...

We houden enorm van Grieks eten en probeerden al vele zaken uit in en rond Antwerpen. Deze is zeker een van de beteren die we al geprobeerd hebben. Het loont zeker de moeite om even verder te rijden tot in Bornem.

We waren hier voor een verjaardag en alles was prima in orde: mooie porties, lekkere smaken, ongedwongen sfeer, rustig genieten en vriendelijke bediening.

Groot pluspunt: we waren hier met onze dochter van 2,5 jaar en zij waren hier heeel kindvriendelijk! Altijd fijn als je kindje welkom is. Wanneer ze behandeld wordt als een gast en niet als last, is dat ook voor de ouders een heel fijne avond. Het gratis ijsje voor haar was de spreekwoordelijke kers op ons Grieks uitje.
