Vossesteert — Restaurant in Bruges

Table booked 7pm this evening for 4 people. A 40th Anniversary celebration. We all ordered the steak nature... 2 x medium and 2x rare. No starters. At 8.30pm we asked where our meal was and eventually it arrived at 8.45pm. Other tables that arrived after us had all been served. The 2 x medium were ok. Both rare were well done. 1 had a really strange looking greasy sauce all over plate. I sent back and it came back. However it was well done and looked like it had been sat under the hot lamp for ages. I sent back. Everyone had finished by now and another 10 minutes later the steak arrived. This time it was cooked on one side only and was stone cold and raw in the middle. Ate a small amount just because was hungry. Complained. Received bill and was still charged. No apology ....

Worst. Service. Ever. Never in my life have I been told I'm not allowed to buy drinks in a "resturant" before unless I order food as well. I tried sitting down with my wife for a few drinks while waiting for the bus but I was declined in the door that it was for people buying food only. Seriously? Just out of the rage I feel at this moment I have to comment futher on this place. It looked like a cheap pizzeria or a kiosk of some sort, staff looked to be around 13 to 15 years old and the people who ate there looked like they came straight out of a funeral. I’d been out all day, had a good bike ride and after a shower I had the munchies, this restaurant just up from the camping site just made my day, a warm welcome and next thing I had the cold beer I needed and a lovely chicken tagliatelle.
