La Margherita — Restaurant in Diest

Excellent in every way! We hiked in the area and popped in randomly and we were not disappointed! The team and service were so warm and friendly (and quick!). The mood of the place is homey and the music so lovely. The best part was that the pizzas were heavenly. The crust was so tasty and crispy and the ingredients indeed so fresh. We didn't finish our pizzas so we took what was left to go, so yes the portions are more than good. We had porto (sweet Portuguese wine) that was also great! We topped it off with a cold creamy tiramisu that made me so happy. The Italian lady offered us limoncello and coffee on the house at the end, but we were extremely full that we had to turn this tempting offer down, but this only tells you how lovely this place was! Today's experience was really on spot! The food is always great here, and now the whole range of dishes have been taken on another level! This is what you get from a family-run business where the owners pour their heart and soul into their restaurant ❤️

We ordered the mixed seafood pasta and modified the sauce to be a mixed tomato and cream sauce , we also ordered penne pasta with mushrooms and garlic with added cream sauce and the alba pizza (burratta, aubergine, Parmigiano, basillico). The portions are generous, and the taste is amazing! Finishing it off with a Lavazza espresso makes you feel like you have really been in Italy 🇮🇹 (Did I forget to describe the ambiance! We hadden deze avond een reservatie voor 10 personen om 20 uur . Toen we om 20 uur toe kwamen . Was er geen plaats en kregen we van een dame op het terras te horen dat we 2 minuutjes moesten wachten. De 2 minuutjes werden uiteindelijk 25 min. Na 25 min eindelijk aan tafel te mogen was er plaats voor 8 personen ipv 10. Na hierover een opmerking te maken hebben ze uiteindelijk een tafel bij gezet . Maar ze vonden het blijkbaar normaal dat we buiten in de regen 25 min hebben moeten wachten zonder enige verontschuldigingen of dergelijke. Het eten was wel lekker dus toch nog een positief punt . MAAR AAN ELEMENTAIRE BELEEFDHEID is er nog veel werk want dit laat te wensen over. Ik vind dat een drankje van het huis niet had mistaan voor het ongemak van het wachten in de regen . Ik vrees dat ze op deze manier klanten gaan verliezen . Een zaak is zeker ik zal er nooit meer gaan en zal het aan iedereen afraden . Op deze manier behandel je geen...
