There are many Italian restaurants in this area, and we had not yet tested this one so wanted to give Sicilia Ristorante a chance. What a bad choice that was.
It was a week-day evening, and the restaurant was only at about 25% capacity throughout our visit. Our starters, some carpaccio and bruschetta were served quickly and were of mediocre quality. Basically, "same old same old" and what one would get identically or better at many other Italian eateries.
It then took them more than 1 hour to serve us our Pizzas. ONE HOUR!!!
Indeed, we saw numerous diners who had arrived after us being served their Pizzas and Pastas before us. We hoped that at least the quality of the Pizza would make up for it. It did not.
What we received were some of the most bland-tasting, uninspired Pizzas we have had in a very long time. To us these were at a taste-level comparable to frozen Pizzas from the supermarket. Whoever masquerades as the Pizzaiolo there...should hand in his hat and resign. Truly shameful Pizza!
The bill for this "delightful" experience came to about 35€ / person. This is not at all in line with the quality we received and charging 9€ for 3 pieces of bruschetta that are, essentially, 3 pieces of French baguette with a bit of cubed tomatoes tossed on-top is extortionate, particularly in light of the overall food quality.
But, there is good news, too. You have much better Italian eatery choices close-by. For better Pizza at a better price, look no further than "Enzo's IJs & Pizzeria" located just about 200 meters from this place, and within just a few minutes by car you will find "Giuliano" and "Arrosto".
There are also plenty of more upscale Italian eateries in the area, all of which you will find easily via Tripadvisor, Google Reviews etc., and we recommend any of the latter competitors as much better dining choices than wasting your time & dime at...
Read moreIf waiting is your thing then this is the place for you. After waiting 15 minutes at a table with too much cutlery, someone finally brought us a menu and immediately walked away. After 20 minutes, the people next to us who were already there far ahead of us were finally allowed to place their orders. The heating was off or low, so people kept their coats on. Didn't get the chance to order. After waiting 45 minutes we got up and left The irony is that we had made a reservation in advance and they still said it was busy. The place was 3/4 empty and the staff was basically seated. Maybe focus less on home delivery and serve the people in your restaurant first. The question why the menu is so bizarre with strange rules about the maximum number of things you can order at a time and all other rules. And then they also ask high prices. Gordon Ramsay...
