Le Freyr — Restaurant in Dinant

We arrived early but were able to check in straightaway and were surprised to be shown to a separate building and we were able to park the car right outside our ground floor room. The room was nothing special but it was comfortable (except for the underfloor heating which we couldn't switch off). As its some way outside of town we really had to eat there in the evening but that was no problem as the restaurant was excellent! We were amazed at how well the staff coped with a very busy restaurant with just 2 waiters and 2 staff in the kitchen, all worked like a well oiled machine. The only problem with the food was that we had eaten too much at lunchtime so we couldn't manage a dessert in the evening! The high quality of the food matched the service and we were very impressed. I stayed in first room of bungalows behind main building. The decoration and furnishings were cheap and tatty. The throw on the bed showed evidence of a previous couple's exertions which the staff had not noticed and changed.||It was hot and the only window was at the back in the bathroom and was jammed shut. So the only ventilation was with the door left open at night. Glad we were not there when it was 40 degrees plus!!||The bathroom and toilet area were dirty, the toilet seat was a different size to the bowl and would not flush solids. The pipes, cistern and toilet were joined with silver tape and all moved alarmingly.||Breakfast for €9 had a very meagre choice of uninteresting items.||On leaving, our report, especially about the toilet , was met with disinterest.||For €91, it was a most unstisfactory and expensive stay, no doubt cashing in on...
