Le Pavillon — Restaurant in Gistel

We arrive at 18:30 on a Sunday evening, we had back then 8 tables ahead of us and everyone was getting a table. The waitress was extremely nice however from what we saw the demanding for orders either take away either customer was too hight for the their capacity. We provided our order, starters, dumplings and Chinese crepe and as main dish we order two different dishes, one with shrimp another one with meat. The phone was ringing all the time, more people were entering the restaurant to get a table and we were 12 in total. We got our drinks very quickly however we noticed that everyone was getting tired of waiting.

One hour and half later we were the only table out of 11 that didn’t receive any food. Even people that arrived after us, received their starts before but overall the atmosphere was quite bad. People were fed up of waiting, people kept walking in to collect their take way orders. It was not fair or correct. They were clearly understaffed and it would be more polite to receive a simple feedback from the waitress or the owner. Instead they left everyone waiting and kept serving the take aways. The dirty dishes were already piling in one table in front of the bar and they kept creating a bigger pile of dirty glasses and dishes. At certain moment a second waiter joined to help but it was not enough. We enjoyed the food but it was not acceptable to wait so long. No one expects to get a fast order, it is not a fast food chain but at least an excuse or an explanation of what is happening. We entered the restaurant at 18:30 and left at 21:19 immediately after concluding...

A quiet place, a calming atmosphere in a time full of stress.. The staff surprised me with their care for the clients.. Food? I've been waiting for something like this for a long time.. Something that doesn't just look like Asian cuisine..It was really worth it..

Nog nooit zo ongezellig gegeten!!! Gezeur door een medewerker over studenten die tijdens het weekend al dan niet geld uit de kassa halen, een constant luid gebiep van de camera die nieuw aangekocht werd en bij het installeren telkens een foutmelding gaf, 0,0 aandacht van de ober want die was te druk bezig met zijn gsm en het installeren van die camera (na 3x 2 cola zero’s te vragen en niet te krijgen hebben we het opgegeven), muziek die zo hard stond dat je niet eens kon praten. We hebben uiteindelijk gevraagd om het eten in te pakken zodat we het thuis rustig konden opeten. Jammer...
