Spijshuis Godelieve — Restaurant in Gistel

We went there for dinner a few days back. First of all I gotta say that the food was great. We had fish, steak and fries. It was all very tasty and nicely cooked.

Also I gotta say that the waiters were very friendly, kind and helpful. Unfortunately they didn't recognize our empty glasses though. We even put them all together on the side of the table for them to see. But even though they passed our table several times, they didn't take the empty glasses with them, neither did they ask if we wanted something else. We heard people from the tables nearby saying the same. Of course we could have called for service but in a restaurant I actually expect for the waiters to recognize empty glasses, especially when displayed so blatantly

Nevertheless we really enjoyed the food and would definitely give the service a second chance next time we are...

Good place to have lunch or dinner. In the middle of the village but quiet as the terrace is behind the building. Had good classic prepared dishes. Friendly owner serving good food. Note: free parking just 50 m away hence no problem to get the car parked for longer...

Het eten was er lekker en de sfeer was uitstekend. Het borrelhapje bracht al een goed en tevreden gevoel. En de door mij gekozen picon was heerlijk. Het voorgerecht van coquiĺes en hanzelever met de keuze van de witte wijn waren een streling voor de smaakpappillen. Het verfrissende tussendoortje was een extraatje dat deed verlangen naar het hoofdgerecht. Als hoofdgerecht koos ik een kabeljauwhaasje dat perfect was klaargemaakt en met de nodige omkadering werd geserveerd. Mijn gezelschap had gekozen voor wild zwijn en had meer dan voldoende waardoor ik ook daarvan nog een deel op mijn bord kreeg. En zodoende ook dit kon proeven. Ook daarvan moet ik zeggen dat het uitstekend is bevallen. Een mooi desert maakte een geslaagd...
