T'Zoet Genot — Restaurant in Koksijde

This place is nothing more than a glorified ice cream parlor and a bad one at that. It's what we Flemish call a "fart in a bag" (e scheet in e zak). Although the ice cream is good the balls are ridiculously small for the price they ask and, moreover, were half molten by the time we got them. Furthermore, my milkshake wasn't made with actual ice cream but was instead lukewarm milk with an added flavor extract which sunk to the bottom, separating from the milk, after 10 minutes.

Honestly, I don't know how this place gets so much good reviews. Food was underwhelming and overpriced, service was bad, and way too touristy.

Definitely avoid this place.

Apparently there is a complete lack of professionalism whatsoever. No, I did have a fight with my wife that day. No, I didn't say the ice cream was bad. In fact the ice cream was quite good, it was simply overpriced for the amount you receive.

Ok starting with the good things. These guys were pioneers. Been here every few months ever since I was a little kid. Place where you can have good pancakes and waffles (and numerous other sweet delights). Although I really like the owners and admire what they have accomplished, I do think loyal customers are increasingly looking for alternatives. Just a few suggestions: over the years, it seems that there are more chairs and tables added to the terrace. I personally prefer some more space, not having to squeeze into my chair. And although the Brussels waffle was tasty, I did find it quite disappointing that half of it was squashed because the dish with the cherries had been placed on top. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he said: "this is what we do when things get busy." Since this place is not cheap, people have the right to expect top quality both in food and service. Ons gezin was vroeger al vaste klant, na overname komen we met nog meer plezier terug! Bo & Christophe doen het super goed. Je moet het maar zien zitten en vooral durven de risico’s nemen! ‘T Zoet Genot is een grote meerwaarde voor Oostduinkerke. De grote kaart is extra uitgebreid met vanallerlei gerechten en al het zoete wordt nog steeds bereid met dezelfde recepturen van vroeger. Hier krijg je kwaliteit voor je geld (kan niet overal gezegd worden) en bediening met een glimlach. Er wordt aandacht besteed aan details. De kids (mijn vriend ingerekend, de grootste kleine ;-)) kunnen de dijk niet voorbij zonder een ijsje aan het ijskraam te halen. Het is er gezellig vertoeven op een prachtig terras, op koudere dagen is het binnen ook gezellig zitten. Dit is voor ons het perfect uitje om eens te ontstressen. Aan alle klagers: zolang we niet werken met robot’s en nog steeds met mensen, zullen er hier en daar wel dingen stroef lopen! De vele jobstudenten lopen de voeten van onder hun lijf om iedereen te bedienen en zouden beter wat erkenning krijgen van de klant, in plaats van negatieve commentaar. Chapeau voor deze jeugd die wel wil werken!! De klant is tegenwoordig een lopende beoordelingsmachine en moet overal op het internet zijn “wijsheid” kwijt. Een goude tip: erger je minder aan het leven en vergeet vooral niet te genieten van uw vrije tijd doorgebracht in gezellig gezelschap op een van de mooiste locaties van Oostduinkerke met zicht op zee.
