Excellent sushi-ya! The quality of the sushi is far better and more authentic than any place I've seen in the Belgian countryside. They even have hamachi and hotate!
They keep the focus on sushi and unlike most places around here, they don't add too many weird things that don't belong on a sushi-ya menu like fried noodles.
Speaking of fried stuff, none of those awful American deep-fried sushi rolls here! 👍
The tai-yaki with black sesame ice cream on the side was very nice.
The interior looks unusually authentic. Well done!
The lovely enka playing in the background are a nice touch! Adds to the authentic atmosphere. ♪
A few friendly suggestions for the owners if they want to make the place even more authentic: - In Japan, miso shiru is served WITH the meal WITHOUT a spoon, never as a starter and never with a Chinese spoon (the soup is held and sipped). I tried to tell the waiter to bring the soup and the sushi at the same time, but I guess she didn't understand what I meant. This was the most disappointing part of our dinner here.
- Small detail: The chopsticks should be placed horizontally near the edge of the table, tip pointing left. (So not vertically → That's Chinese / Korean-style). The chopstick rest was nice though!
- Wan tan soup does not belong on a sushi-ya menu.
- Unlike the tai-yaki, the dora-yaki was a bit dry (from a package?) and was not worth the money...

Everything is done with the attention to detail: interior, hosts, the cutlery, the drinks, the presentation, the staters and the sushi. It really surpassed my expectations. The choice is extensive. Some fish variety I have never seen in any other places in the arena and everything we tried tased divine. I will...
