HUGGYS — Restaurant in Nandrin

I have given this rating 2 stars chiefly due to the service received. To eat only an aperitif, main and a desert took 2 and a half hours. After our mains were finished and glasses empty it took another half an hour before a server passed by our table. When we raised this issue to him, instead of just apologising and moving on, he was clearly frustrated because he got defensive saying it was not his fault, lots of people, he was the only one serving the burgers etc etc. None of which made the wait time any shorter. You also need a 4x4/tank/truck to enter the restaurant as the potholes will take the oil pan off any low clearance car.

All that being said the mains were very very good, my 3 guests and I enjoyed the burgers immensely. My own choice was a burger of Irish steak, a whiskey sauce and a spiced cheddar. It was excellent. The dessert selection is limited but good not amazing.

I will no doubt eat from the restaurant again as the food is nice, I just will get it...

Food: what we were looking for.

Service: good, polite, friendly. A waitress knocked off a few onion rings on her way to our table; she immediately got us another serving. So, yes, service was really great.

On the not-that-great side:

Parking: read other reviews. No improvement here. Also, hard time finding the place.

Time slot policy and how it is applied. Even though we were well aware of the time slot policy (1:45 h, give or take per reservation), and have no problem with that (otherwise, we wouldn't have come) we do think that if the kitchen delivers late, time slot should be extended. We had a reservation for 18:45 on a Friday night, June 22. We were seated at 18:55. OK, these 10 min are on us. We received the menus and ordered immediately. Drinks came reasonably fast. However, we waited quite a long time for our starters. Didn't check my watch, but we had the time to be like "hey, we're getting hungry here". Same for the burgers. We were done with our hamburgers at around 20:30. And we had been starving, so, needless to say, we gulped them up. We were hardly done that a waiter said we had to clear our table. We told him that we couldn't be penalised for a slow delivery, but he said there was nothing he could do. He offered to seat us at the bar, for desert and coffee, which we declined since we were a party of four and didn't feel like breaking off. We paid and left. Too bad, because the evening had set off to be great, but the ending spoiled it.

We will not return there until this policy is changed. Nourriture: c'est ce qu'on voulait Servie: poli, aimable, accueillant. En un mot: parfait.

Parking: voir autres revues. Pas d'amélioration. Visibilite: idem.

Reservation a durée limitée: nous comprenons et acceptons le principe. Son application devrait tenir compte du relais de livraison des plats. Nous sommes arrives a 18:55 (en retard de 10 min, notre réservation était a 18:45, néanmoins, dans les délais). Nous avons commande tout de suite une entrée a partager. Elle est arrivée assez tard pour que nous soyons affames. Les burgers sont arrives tard aussi, au point que nous les avions fini peu avant 20:30. Et vu notre faim, nous les avons littéralement gobes. Un serveur nous a demande de libérer la table vu que notre réservation était pour 18:45-20:30. Malgré que nous avions signale les retards en cuisine, qui ne devraient pas pénaliser le client, il n'a pu donner comme solution de rechange qu'un coin de bar pour y prendre le dessert. Nous étions quatre, donc pas question de diviser le groupe. Nous avons refuse, paye, et sommes parti. Dommage car c'était une bonne soirée.

Nous ne reviendrons pas a Nandrin tant que cette politique n'est...

This place is right out wonderful.

Our French language skills are really bad, and have to result to English in situations where interaction is needed.

Our waitress Diana immediately picked up on this and ensured we had wonderful service throughout the evening.

The restaurant itself is absolutely cozy, and even though you could consider it a sports place, people come for the food, not the sports..

And lastly the food is exquisite..

A great combined flavor experience is what you can expect when eating here.

And more fun and quirky fact is that the menu actually has a roadmap if you are undecided and helps you to pick your meal..
