La Scala — Restaurant in Nieuwpoort

Unbelievably bad experience. For starters the menu and prices outside are not up to date. Secondly the food was just tasteless, the lasagna was just pasta with bolognese sauce on top (not between the layers), and the Agli scampi was also almost plain pasta. Thirdly, we could not pay by card, we had to go out again to withdraw cash. Fourthly, it was so hot inside I ate faster to get out (there was airconditioning and they didn't turn it on). To be fair the Restaurant was busy. No tables free for 1.5 hours, ok. Takeaway Pizza? Sure but not for 30 mins. Friendly waitress did her best to accommodate us. Owner and other staff completely ignored us despite speaking Italian, French and German. Not welcoming or polite. Could have been honest and just said no room a lot sooner! We went as a family to have pizza in La Scala on a Sunday night. The pizzas are from a wood fire oven. The pizzas are large and taste delicious.
